This is a game I played in the 6th round of a 7-rounded tournament, at the time I was at 3.5 out of 5 points and I was now paired against the in rating number 1 in our rating group <1950, so I was excited to play this game
1. d4
I start out with the QP to d4, my favorite opening move with white

I really don't like to play against this system, I just don't know it too well

Also I dislike playing against gambits, so here, after 3 moves, the first big decision was to be made, to accept the gambit or not?

4. cxb5
I chose to accept it, since I have played against this gambit once before and I tried to play the same system as I did then.

4... a6 5. bxa6 Bxa6 6. g3
Which is the system with g3, Bg2, kingside castle and afterwards Re1, I find this as white quite solid to play with, since the plan for black is to attack on the queenside, bringing his king's rook to b8 at one point, so my king was not really in the danger area now.

6... g6
He decided to copy

7. Bg2 Bg7 8. Nc3 Nf6 9. Nf3 O-O 10. O-O
The last 5 moves have been all normal developing moves, and now black is going to bring the plan of the gambit into action

10... Nbd7
Developing the knight to the only reasonable square, making room for the king's rook.

11. Re1
Getting myself out of the bishop's diagonal a6-f1, therefore releasing my e-pawn out of that pin.

11... Qb6 12. Rb1
To back up my b2-pawn in case I want to move my bishop on c1.

12... Rfb8
The idea of the gambit has been completed, the rooks on a8 and b8 exerting pressure on the a and b-file, while my pieces are still not so well placed yet, good compensation for but a pawn.

13. Bd2 Qb7 14. Kh1
This was a weird move, I realised after my opponent played his move, which I somehow completely missed. The idea was Ng1, followed by e4 and Nge2 and maybe f3 at some point

14... Ng4
But of course this forces me to move my king back

15. Rf1
? But I don't. I get myself back into that stupid bishop pin, just because I don't want to move my king back to g1. I still hold on to my previous plan.

15... Qa7
But he is wasting time as well, playing his queen around slowly

16. h3
Driving the knight away while also creating a hole for my king at h2

16... Nge5 17. b3
Probably not the best move here, but it looked good when I played it. My a2-pawn is still covered by my knight, and now my b-pawn has backup from my a-pawn. The drawback is now that my c3 knight is weak and will probably for not so long anymore protect my a-pawn.

17... Nb6 18. Nxe5
Getting rid of the strong centralized knight while at the same time freeing my previously useless bishop, which now covers my d5-pawn.

18... Bxe5 19. Qc2 Qd7 20. Kh2
I wanted to reroute my bishop to d3 now, but before I can move my bishop, I have to cover my then weak h3-pawn.

20... Ra7
Preparing for doubling rook, which is not really useful now. Maybe also getting his rook out of my bishop's diagonal, but my d5-pawn is still blockading the diagonal.
