In general, I believe that pesky=annoying, but what does it mean, in chess?

I find the knight to be a very annoying piece. It moves all over and it is able to leap over other pieces.

I would not give this a question because it is actually a good move. At this point, he can win a free pawn sooner or later, so I would mark it with a !.

This is best. There's only one other option, which is moving your queen (which is attacked), but 12...Qe7 would allow Black to break up your queenside and on e8 the queen is just doing nothing and standing in the way for your development.

Easily best - Black has swapped off his worst piece to break up White's centre.

This is Black's turnaround move, exchanging bad piece for good piece.

I agree. After 13.dxc5, it looks like he will start to have material crammed, and his c pawn will be in a bad position.

Probably unnecessary given that you can never kick the Bishop from a4. White might now think about the b4-b5 push and if he can support it to make it dangerous.

I assume you're preparing for ...Qd5 here, which probably isn't too bad. Aggression on the kingside does seem to be a stronger option, though.

This is an inaccuracy, but Black still has chances to win. 14...g4 is an eliminate the defender tactic, where Black is moving the Knight away from a meaningful meal, the e5-pawn.

As I had mentioned earlier, 15.Nxd4 was best.

I don't think this is too bad; now ...Qd5 is a bit stronger, as the Bishop no longer defends e5. 15...h5 does look tempting, though.

In my view, 15...h5 is a little slow. This, followed by Qd5 looks equal instead of slightly better for White.

I wouldn't have played this personally; (Edit) The reason I wouldn't have played this is that the bishop isn't going anywhere. It'll still be there next move. I think Black can play Qd5 first without any worries, and you still have the attacking potential of the knight to rely upon.) I thought 15... Qd5 was the plan after your d4 push, but maybe 15.... h5 has some value here. White's DSB is in danger, and Black can quickly mobilise his rooks to attack White's king-side. (Edit) 15... h5 forces White to commit his f or h-pawn to allow space for the bishop, then swapping off the knight for it causes a bit of weakness in the position. However, I'm not sure how weak White will be after 16... f3 so I probably would decide against it.

!? @chesskingdom64: I do not agree with this assessment, and here's why. In this position, white just exposed his king by putting a whole around it. This might cost white the game. In other words, it could become his loosing blunder.

The king can easily hide on h1. Meanwhile, white's rook has just got a whole new line of attack going for it.

Again, Qd5 was probably needed to release that pin and attack the weak White pawns.

It would be. It just shows the problems with doubled pawns.

For the first time in this game, this Knight has better breathing room.

I strongly agree with chesskingdom64 because of what I had mentioned, earlier.

Supports d3 and defends f7 as well. White needs to get rid of that as soon as possible. Probably Nf3 is best here for white.

?! As I had mentioned in my last comment, you did not waste time. Of course, I am not going by point value, but I have noticed that rooks are almost always stronger then knight, in my games. This is, however, due to the general positon. In this position, if a knight is worth more then a rook, then I was a little inaccurate, with the last two comments.

! This is actually solid, and you should not trade. Why? If you do this, it is not an even exchange because he will be able to undouble and reconnect his pawns. In this position, that absolutely matters because his king will be less exposed, if he can do that.

!! This is actually an excellent move. In some games, I have either had a very good loss, draw, or a win by bringing my pawn on the second rank, and attacking a powerful piece. Usually, they are rooks.
