Same Sex Marriages.
I ran across this article and Google'ed the subject.

www.csmonitor.com

I find it very difficult to believe that the subject to have Gay Litergy for marriage is even being considered. The Episcopal Church has it ready and will start in December I do believe. www.csmonitor.com

Is it me or are those churches which are approving such stuff walking in doctrines of demons?

Same sex marriage not condoned in Bible
There are several authors who attempt to promote that same sex marriage is condoned in the Bible; this can't be further from the truth. Beside the obvious condemnations found in Leviticus 18 and Romans 1, there is Jesus' view of the marriage institution. In Mark 10, Jesus is confronted by the Pharisees who posed a question concerning divorce; Jesus points out that the marriage institution ordained by Himself was between a male and a female. Read verses 6, 7. Divorce as Jesus explains can incur the sin of adultery. Second, and significant is the Ephesians 5:23-33 passage, Paul under God's inspiration writes that the marriage institution is analogous to the relation between Jesus Christ and the church. The church is submissive as the bride of Christ to Him, as the wife is submissive to her husband. Neither of these passages lend credence to same sex marriage. Third, the marriage institution is also for procreation, recall in Genesis1:28, this is reiterated in the post deluvian earth to Noah. Genesis 9:7 Same sex marriage cannot procreate as was designed by God. They can only adopt, but not have their own progeny naturally.

RE: bjornhansen

Good points were made. Then thing which I like to bring to the table concerning Gay Marriage, is it rules out the traditional standard and definition of what marriage is.

If we are to abandon the definition of marriage which states it consists of a man and a woman, then what standard are we to look? Are plural marriages to be considered acceptable? In other word is a man and several wives now the standard? If not, why not? Again, can I marry my pet rock or chicken, after all if the standard is not set God, then what other standard is there?

In a secular society, again, who sets the moral rules, establishes what is norm, there is no high standard in which we might apply questions of this sort. Who is to say one standard is correct and another is not.

Blessings,
Len

Who sets the standards?
Any standard that is acknowledged as true, must first be transcendent, unchangeable, eternal and perfect. Man by nature fits none of these criterion, man changes standards at a whim for his convenience and not for the benefit of society. The fact that man can conceive of the idea of perfect makes it a reality. For example, numbers are perfect, why because numbers are not an invention of man because they are infinite, transcendent, unchangeable and perfect. However, what does it mean to be perfect, well, I argue that perfection is the absence of needs or wants. Numbers fit this description, but man doesn't we need to eat, sleep and have unfulfilled desires. But there is also another example of perfection, God. Since God is perfect, transcendent, eternal unchangeable He must be the one who is the standard for all morality. Whether one wishes to acknowledge this is another matter; Paul made it clear in Romans 1, that violation of God's moral standards had serious repercussions. Further, the first leg of the journey to immorality is denial of God and exaltation of man. (Verses 18-23) Then everything goes down hill from there.

RE: bjornhansen

The statement "immorality is denial of God and exaltation of man" rings true in our ears. When one looks at our society over the last 50 years, the denial of God is grown. With this growth, the exaltation of man has increased.

It is sad to say, fish eggs are protected when a fetus is slaughtered. Animal rights groups lobby and fight for animal rights yet a child is left at the mercy of child predators.

Episcopal church
If you are associated with the Episcopal church then you should be familiar with John Shelby Spong; this right reverend is an example of a wolf in sheep's clothing. He has a superficial stance of holiness, but he denies the power. We are also seeing Isaiah 5:20 in living flesh with the confusion of good and evil. As you sited, how we preserve fish eggs and slaughter innocent unborn children, there is a nation wide scope of the confusion of morality in the US. It is my persuasion that anyone who embraces evolution would be morality obligated to support gay rights, abortion and same sex marriage; why? because all require the absence of God in the moral landscape.

No debate necessary!
The fact that there is even a debate over whether to allow "same sex marriages" brings into question the (to use a popular description) viability of the a church having the discussion. If they are discussing it they have already begun to reject the Word of Elohim (God) since the scripture is abundantly clear concerning the subject of sodomy.

If God's judgement against it was just when it was giving it is still just.

(Lev 18:22) Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

No debate necessary.
I concur with you Herbb52, however, as clear as it is to us,it is a matter of presuppositions and biases that I elaborate on the issue. Many reject scripture as being relevant based on unfounded grounds. This is where apologetics can be used with some effectiveness, to fortify the biblical stance against perverted sexual activities. the act of homosexuality is clearly condemned in the O.T. and in the N.T. However, there are people masquerading as Christians who twist the scriptures to suit their needs; these charlatans must be answered so the truth may be revealed. Again, your post was on the mark! Also understand I teach Eastern/Western Philosophy, Comparative Religions and Logic in college so I encounter this dilemma frequently. Shalom.
