Speed of thought
Is there a limit?

good question
i have often thought about this. I would hazard a guess that this is the fastest possible speed
that can be even remotely possible. Perhaps really old and advanced civilizations can engineer
this speed or....the Gods.

Someday we will master "Quantum entanglement" such that we will be able to instantaneously
communicate thought, ideas, and information across the universe.

We can't do it now. If fact, we think it actually impossible now. But, any intelligent civilization
that ends up dominating their Galaxy will need that skill.

Building to that end, one thing that will soon become possible, and is doable, is mind-to-Internet
communications where, rather than a computer or iPhone, people have RFID chips in their head
which allow communications with the Internet.

very good idea
The computer is just as important as the invention of the Radio,Television. Bees and Ants
communicate via Chemistry. So any social Being has to perfect better and better communications.
As to dominating the Galaxy that's a million years away at the least. It would be more important
to organize the human population of this planet. Feeding everyone and using our resources
efficiently will take several hundred years. That would include a form of weather control to get
water to dryer areas such as deserts so more food can be produced. Then after we have done
that hopefully we will have the technology to reach the nearest stars in a reasonable amount of
time(5-10 yrs) To confine our seed to just one planet is very dangerous. Our present technology
even with the will to spend that much money,it would take about 6-hundred years just to reach
the nearest star(at 4.4 light years away). So we have a very long way to go!! But you are right
about
the importance of faster and faster computer tech. But all this is very speculative and fanciful. It
is quite possible that we are going to foul the nest and end up going no-where. I hope not....

Think about this
"The Traveler was a mysterious humanoid from Tau Alpha C who had the ability to alter time and space with his thoughts. It is implied that these abilities are from his understanding of the concept that "matter, energy, and thought" are related and interchangeable."

It has always seemed odd to me
that our planet is 3/4 water and we cant even get enough water to feed enough people on the other 1/4. I live close to the Mississippi river and I think of the billions of gallons of unused freshwater that just spill back into the ocean every day.

water is not so abundent
water covers most of the 'surface' of the earth but our planet is not 3/4 water. In fact there is
far less water then people realize.ga.water.usgs.gov

holy H2O: our planet is not 3/4 water
good point.

By volume then, what would the ratio be? Would that include atmospheric moisture?

THE ARTICLE SHOWS THE VOLUME.
Just read it and go to the reference sites. There is more water in great molecular clouds in
space,on Ice bound moons of Jupiter and Saturn and throughout the observable Universe. It all
was created or recycled in super novae as were the heavy metals found in our bodies.
Supernova production of heavy elements over astronomic periods of time ultimately made the
chemistry of life on Earth possible. We all have been re-cycled many many times in Other Super
Novae since time immemorial. We are stardust!!!! From chaos comes moments of equilibrium. We
are in one of those moments right now. I intend to enjoy it!!!! BC

"Just read it and go to the reference sites."
The computer I'm currently logged onto uses dial-up so chasing and wading through reference sites is not something I'm going to waste my time doing. I may take a look tomorrow when I jump onto the warp-drive unit.
