most definitely....cycling
I'm into racing for a few years now and I like it very much.

I ride the bike myself and I love to watch pro cycling on television as well

Right now I am watching the Tour de France, sheer heroism what these guys display each day. Going downhill with 50-60 miles an hour.

Lost my interest in soccer and tennis and this is replaced by the NFL.

Tennis, UFC fighting, and slowly Rugby... Slowly... I gained an interest during the world cup
last year...

Sorry, Porko, but when I watch Cycling, I'm hoping that they crash in a major pile up and half
of 'em fall over a cliff...

Ok, maybe that was excessive, but it would be great if they could swing things at each other,
such as chains, as they pedaled past other cyclers...

haha, I like your sense of humor.
If you ride the bike yourself, basically only wearing a helmet, go downhill with something like 40-45 miles an hour (20-25 on average) than you don't enjoy these guys going down to the ground. These pro's go somewhere around 50-65 miles.
This years tour has had a lot of casualties already, about 20 of em dropped out.

One Dutch guy broke three ribs, ruptured his kidney and splean and he is in bad shape.

This Dutch lady pro, fell in The lady Giro d'Italia, broke her collar bone and managed to keep riding for 3 days straight.
Nope, do not enjoy a bit.....

I work with the former director (television) of the Tour de France... He was the director for
years... Very cool guy who tells us great stories from those days... His son, however, is in
France right now working the event as a handheld camera operator... As an engineer in that
field, I should have made an attempt to work it... Lately, I'm getting the urge to travel.

Cycling
I enjoy Le Tour De France every year. So far, the accidents haven't been as bad as the last
tour. I'm rooting for Bradley Wiggins this year.

I honestly did not realize that so many people got wounded so badly in cycling... Sorry about
that "pile up/over a cliff" comment...

Bradley Wiggins, eh? Sounds good to me... I was rooting for Andy Murray in tennis, so I'll be
pulling for Wiggins in cycling... Let me know when it's over.

Wiggins 1st and Froome 3rd tonight

Surely everyone's favourite sport is cricket isn't it?
qwkslvr
09-Jul-12, 13:02

Aye pete
And Wiggins is in yellow still!
I also like the new guy, Peter Sagan. I don't suppose he really has a chance against the
veterans, but; I'd be thrilled to see him win a few more stages.

Don't worry about it captain, thought so.
Yep, last year Wouter Weylandt was killed in a crash in the Giro d'Italia, he was only 26.

Hmmm Cricket, don't think so. Not really into sports where they round up and start having lunch.....only to continue a few hours later. btw, what's that with calling every game a test?

When are they done testing....?

Wiggins is great, so is Froome.
But can someone tell Bradley that sideburns are out of style since a year of 35

Why I left home
Sideburns would look cool when you come from Leek like I do. Check out the link below. To set
the scene the town's roundabout has been destroyed to make way for traffic lights and a
pedestrianised zone a great improvement to any right minded person. This is one of many
postings of the protest that demonstrate why I now live in Ireland. If there are any 'posh'
accents in this clip they are blow ins. I understand that many of the people in the postings are
waiting to audition for a remake of Deliverance but unfortunately they cannot work out which
way up a banjo should be held.

I like swimming and badminton, for my own personal exercise. But I enjoy watching track and
field athletics, cricket, and tennis.

Cricket:

Honestly, I have heard of the game, but would not be able to tell someone I was watching it if I stumbled across a match.

So, I just did a Wiki search.

It turns out that I see this game being played, quite often, in Heckscher State Park.

According to Wiki: "The game is played particularly in Australasia, the Indian subcontinent, the West Indies, Southern Africa and England."

-The folks playing near my home are from the Indian subcontinent. Good thing, 'cause those dang Aussies would litter the field with beer cans and shrimp shells.

Aye and barbies on the outfield. A quote from Brett Lee, Australian bowler, who has just retired :

"My ribs were black and blue. I had a busted arm. He'd tried to kill me. Whoever won, we were
going to end up in the changing rooms talking about the game. We were mates. That's Test
cricket.”

I used to love speaking to our former Co-Cap'n, Gochiking, by phone... The connection was always so poor and I would have to concentrate, intensely, on trying to decipher what he was saying as his accent was sooo thick. (At least for my untrained, unsophisticated ears.) I miss that guy, alot.

My hairstylist (used to be called "haircutter") is from Melbourne, Australia... She is one cool chick... We usually just spend this time laughing at her coworkers or other patrons. Aussies have a sense of humor that fits my style perfectly.

It is because of her that I frequently use the term "fair dinkum," in conversation.

Hey guys and gals
Want to thank Mrmarmalade for inviting me to the club. This is my first post. I love sports. My number fav is Kentucky basketball. I am a fanatic. I also enjoy all college football, SEC football in particular. I do live in the south but one of the few people in the area that doesnt follow NASCAR. I used to really love boxing until pay per view ruined it.

Look forward to some good topics and conversations here. Hello to all.

Update
I enjoyed watching the British Open, my team remained at #1 on the ladder all day, but 2 triple bogies this afternoon in my golf league brought me back down to Earth. Oh well, two out of three ain't bad. Lol

For me it's MMA, off-road motorcycle racing and archery. I cross-train with a mountain bike and am considering SuperMoto. I also like downhill skiing and baseball. I can only throw about 75 mph but my curve ball will buckle your knees.

Michelle Jenneke
I just watched a video of the Australian hurdler Michelle Jenneke dancing before her race and then beating everybody.
This girl is smoking hot & not afraid to have fun.
Hope she goes far in the Olympics.
