sad_but_true 20-Jul-12, 22:26	i used to a bit .. generally when i had maximum 20 games going and i was waiting for others to make there moves. it did help me .. at the same time i was using the tactics feature i gained my highest rating. These days , got too many games going on. I'm getting beat by every1. the downfalls of setting up Team Tourneys.
johnclark 20-Jul-12, 22:34	I really think that a firm commitment to tactic exercises are the way to go if one is serious about improving his/her game. It looks like the site's tactics program is pretty good. I'd also like to hear from some folks who use it, though.

mrmarmalade 26-Jul-12, 06:08	I completely forgot about that cartoon until I read your post. Captain Caveman was always one of my Saturday mornng favorites. I use the chess tactics, just not very often. My rating in it is far below my playing average. About 150 pts, I think, which is not very reassuring.
petemellor 26-Jul-12, 11:26	Strange I use it when I have no moves to make and generally I am about 150 pts better. I think because I know there is definitely a mate or material gain within a few moves I have more patience looking. Think it helped me get from 1300s to 1500s. Think I need a new brain to progress further.
mrmarmalade 26-Jul-12, 11:32	Really? It has helped your game improve that much? Maybe I should take a better look at it as a learning tool as I have been stuck in my current rating for a loooooong time with no immediate signs of progress in sight.

qwkslvr 26-Jul-12, 11:58	Hit and miss Although I should use the tactics option regularly to help improve my game, my approach is more "when the mood strikes" rather than my wish to do ten problems a day.
