I'm happy you mentioned this, shredder!
I've been thinking a lot about this stuff with the team messages and I just don't understand what all the commotion is about. It reminds me of a bunch of old farts who are opposed to anything new even before they give it a chance. The fact of the matter is every team member has access to new messages that are posted on the team forum. The complaints about this have so far been that some members toggle off the new forum message alert because they might not want to be disturbed, the threads get over crowded and non paying members can't post messages on the team forum. Well, to those captains who think their messages are important, just remove members who don't wish to be disturbed by your pearls of wisdom. And if non paying members would like to post a response instead of replying via a personal message, then maybe they should BUY A PREMIUM SUBSCRIPTION. Keep it up Shredder! I like that guy.

It has been my experience...
that anytime there is change proposed, people only see one side of the issue. It is true in life, why would it be any different here. I'm open for all new dialogue. that members in general don't even know how to change the simplest of settings, I sorta feel that is why most members don't particpate on the forum, now before you all gang up on me, I'm talking about the general member who just comes here to play games. when implementing a new change somethings will change and some attitudes will never change. Gosh if I had been GK I probably would have turned On all of the settings on the teams menu for everybody and let the complainers figure how to turn them back off so as not to recieve too many messages from the forum or the the outcome of matches. The first time somebody got a sore shoulder from turning the crank on his Model T, did they run out in the pasture to grab a a horse, thankful not.

@knightgator: Well said!
|

Agreed. Turn all these settings ON and let everyone figure out how to shut these alerts off. Is this not the current case? I am unsure as of yet.

I'm just now, following threads, Has the "message" option on the main menu always been breaking down your messages into different categories? Just wondering if that is new, can't tell because following threads is new to me. Wouldn't it be nice if there was an alert for messages from Team captains...

@Kightgator... I'm not sure what u mean. I think u may be referring to Thread Topics, which anyone can start as long as they belong to the club. Still, I don't think I've answered yer inquiry. I've been on a steady diet of beer, vodka, clams and assorted seafood for three days, so Marmalade brain isn't up to its usual 3% capacity. I'm at a current 1.5%... Should be up n' running and back to full function in a few days.

@Mr.M: My bad. I misread "claims" for oysters and went a bit crazy since fresh firm oysters on the half shell with fresh horseradish is my favorite. But it does sound like you have all the makings for a best selling diet book.
