NASCAR
NASCAR gets the most spectators to their events and is the most popular sport in two southern states, Alabama is one of them, what is the other?

NASCAR is NOT the most-watched sport on TV, though, even in Canada. The TV viewing question is based on American audiences. The answer for Canadian TV is obvious for No.1, but I doubt there are any reliable stats for the other sports.

Guessing...
North Carolina! I live right in the middle of Nascar country. I hear the test engines on daily basis. I see teams everyday in restaurants. All the area restaurants have Nascar objects hanging on their walls.

One would think I would be a fan.

I can't find the link, but I think you're right.

Link Found
Oh, found the link and the question was flawed. The other place is just an area, not an entire state. The two areas where NASCAR is no. 1 are Alabama and Daytona. Now, is that Daytona Beach, FL or is it another Daytona?

"According to ESPN's survey: * Football was first. * Baseball was second. * Basketball was third. Those were followed by college football, college basketball, then NASCAR, which had something like 2.2 percent of the population. NASCAR is the biggest sport in certain areas, e.g. in Daytona and Alabama."

It's Florida
I was thinking Florida was probably the next possibility. But don't let the people here know that NC is not mentioned. The city I live in is dubbed Race City USA. The most common field trip for summer programs for kids is to take a trip to the Business Park for tours where most of the occupants are race teams. The marketing firms that represent the teams will bring their show cars to schools for the kids to see. The kids here grow up with it. It's in the blood. We have a lot of teams here since we're close to Charlotte. Race weeks around here are pure chaos but there is an aura that compares to nothing else I've ever seen. Nascar fans are like no other I've ever seen.

I worked a NASCAR event... Crazeeeeeeeeeeyyyyy... I actually stood on the platform where the flagmen are positioned and watched "felt" those machines whiz by, just below... The skill that these guys have is amazing. They are blasting by at 180 mph, fractions of inches separating the cars. PRECISION.

The Pit Stops are NO place for children, I can assure you of that. That place is outright dangerous.

I saw a car in reverse, hit a guy in the back of his knees, dropping him instantly in a painful contortion. Being this was my first event, I caught on REAL quick, to watch your ass, 'cause no one else is. The drivers don't care; get out of there way.

It's fanatical. Mistee is right; the fans are like no other.
