Sales training 101 continued: new question

Some of the long-term benefits of successful networking include:

A. You will build business friendships and relationships.

B. You will be able to use these contacts for sales and referrals.

C. You will not have to cold call to get new business.

D. You can call people later and they will already know you.

There is only ONE correct answer... A, B, C, or D.

Clarify! Clarify!! Clarify, please!!!
@mr.M: Request for clarification- The Question is SOME of the long term benefits... INCLUDE:...

So if only one of the answers is correct, then the other three must be false???

Come on MrM, let's get to the 300 and 400 classes.
A - is the only answer, the rest are decoy. Without those friendships and relationships you're just a stranger trying to peddle something.

Sorry, JClark... You have to decipher the language as ya see fit and best apply an answer...

a genuine business relationship will lead to greater opportunities than a 'I met you once so now I can hit you up for a sale/referral' relationship - take a real interest in your business associates and you will get real benefits, look for opportunities where you both will benefit from the relationship

my answer is A - a firm A results in B, C and D opportunities arising

@JC: We have to keep in mind that these are business lessons. Park the logic and drink deeply from the cup of psychology. We are looking at the consistent, yet illogical way people respond and react, based on their real desires, values and fears. Emotions, image and intution rule the kingdom of business.

Based on that, I, too, am going for A since as Thumper and Chilliman says, the others can only happen if A is in place.

A&B should be the only correct answers.

Well done, y'all... Chilliman actually stated it best as A, results in B, C and D opportunities.

A, is the correct answer.

Having been in sales for the last twelve years leads me to believe A&B are correct.

@mr.M: Maybe you instructions should have been to choose the BEST answer?
mrmarmalade
31-Aug-12, 14:35

JClark... It's our task to choose the BEST answer.

Just pointing out that clear communication is essential to success. Counting on the reader to assume something other than what is directed, well...

I did clarify... I wrote that there was only ONE correct answer: A, B, C or D.

What have u been drinking with Captain Meat Loaf?

en guarde!
@mrM: I know YOU knew what you meant, but I found the question somewhat confusing. The qualifying statement "SOME of the long-term benefits of successful networking INCLUDE:" led me to look for answers that would not be benefits of successful networking and having found none, I thought it would be logical to select all, A through D.

But I found it a bit confusing when you clarified it with "There is only ONE correct answer... A, B, C, or D" since "only ONE" was inconsistent with "SOME" and "INCLUDE".

It would have been more helpful for me had the clarification been along the lines of "Choose the BEST answer" or "Choose the answer that must/typically/usually occurs first.

Sorry, my bad.

As the hiring manager, your resume is about to go to the waste basket stack... Get it together, JClark or we may go with Kightgator... He did a better job washing the elephants too.

I sell military clothing, deployment gear to our outstanding troops. Along with furniture, office supplies and tools and much more.

Selling directly to the branches of military? It's so strange, the diffent venues which involve sales.

Please explain more, if u can...

They do and I didn't name all the agencies. Still think A&B are the right answers.
mrmarmalade

B, only happens because of A.

B, C and D are ALL results of A.
