Sales training 101: round 3
(Choose the BEST answer: there is only one correct response)

When building rapport with a new prospect you should try to:

A. Ask them questions about politics or religion.

B. Find out general information about their business history.

C. Ask personal questions about their life.

D. Ask engaging about their general personal likes (college, favorite teams, last vacation).

I get it all from Jeffrey Gitomer: The little red book of sales

...and a few other sources by same author.

Man I could write one of your sales challenges from real stuff that goes down in my office every day. You'd freaking laugh your head off with what some of my people think is right and wrong.

Today we overnighted a few parts for a guys order across the country so it can then sit in his garage and wait for the rest of his order to show up.

Doorknob solution--- expedite at our expense so he can sit and wait and be mad for the rest of his order. Way to go guys! Lets practice burning 100 bills in the fire too.

lolz.

lol... that is hysterical...

I use to work with a site agent who would routinely accept $500 binder deposits to purchase a $300,000 dollar home... Oh, how I would laugh at the lectures he would get via a pissed off VP.

D. Ask engaging about their general personal likes

My most proud moment when pushed into a situation I didn't like: "Is that you old college or school tie?"
Customer: "No,why do you ask?"
Me: "Oh, just wondered why someone would wear a tie like that."
