Long game...
Wow, this game was started back in February of 2004. I found it referenced on the gameknot forums: gameknot.com

I'm not sure what my longest game here on gameknot is. I don't know if there is a way to easily check without going through each game in my history.

I have a current game going where we are on move 86. This is probably one of longer games when ranked by "number of moves."

Wow, that's a long long time and that's about all anyone can say with the game still in progress----I wouldn't think that long a game could be possible---good luck----

100 moves games
I have played a 102 move game, but it only took a few days, these guys have 134 movers over 8 years...clearly there are some vacation days at work, althougth they do have 14 days between moves or 28 days to each move so it they stick to that scehdule they wold move only about 20 or so moves a year I guess.....it is possible but silly.

LOL I will play you eight years but I am much older then you so might die before game is done so I guess that would be a "resignation".....

@SBT... Truer words have never been spoken... How presumptuous of me to assume GK will even tolerate my presence another 8 months... At my pace of being reported for abuse, I should be focusing on blitz chess.

@Macv... I shall accept your 8 year "death" chess battle... I live like Keith Richards, so we are probably quite balanced as a fair match... As a matter of fact, I'm going to title our game just that...

Long and Unusual Game
My longest was also my most unusual game. This particular game involved 76 moves. First, it was the first time that I have won a game where I made multiple errors including, but not limited to, at least two serious mistakes. Second, this game was my longest frame and was in progress for more then two months.

Unlike my game against amnita, one reason I defeated my opponent, is due to the fact that I did not underestimate him. Instead, I became aggressive, to capture more material, and promote a pawn, during the end. In fact, this happened, in the last five moves. What happened during the end? Well, I remembered what happened in my game against anitam, where I was winning and was a piece and two pawns ahead. In addition, I was extremely close to promoting the pawn. However, I became overconfident, and that is what led to my downfall. Why? Because I had an attitude that she could whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted to do it. Therefore, she essentially got, what I lost. A pawn promotion.

Compared to Jack Stockel
Likewise, Jack Stockel showed me a different game, at the chess club. This is a game that he almost lost, and his opponent was clearly winning. However, the opponent underestimated Mr. Stockel, so Jack was able to take advantage and pull a win, with only one mistake, by the opponent. So, here's the moral. As Jack would say, "When you think that you have won or are in a winning position, be very careful and do not underestimate your opponent. Otherwise, you might start making mistakes, and losing the game".
