Favorite Horror Movie
In the spirit of the upcoming celebration of "All Hallows Eve" in North America ( not sure whom else is subject to the yearly commercialization of Halloween), what is your favorite horror movie?

Although I'm not a big fan of the the subject, there are two movies that I just can't turn off if I happen across them-----"The Omen" (Gregory Peck/Lee Remick) and "The Exorcist" (Linda Blair/and the Demon inside)--------

Come on---What is your guilty pleasure?

For me, it's gotta be "Basket Case", a D Grade schlockfest from my teen years.

The Omen II was also awesome.

Many years back I was the night supervisor at a halfway house. It was a large, old, Victorian style, two story house that cracked and screeched with any footsteps or wind. That's where I read the Amityville Horror. Location, location, location-

Bringing children to horror movies
This might be a new thread but at what age is it appropriate to bring little kids to horror movies?
Two examples come to mind.
Many years ago I was with a lady who had a 5 year old girl. Her father took her with him to see An American Werewolf in London. She had nightmares and woke us up screaming for months after that. I wanted to kick his dumb ass around the block for that.
When I went to see Van Helsing a couple had two 5 year old kids with them. I wonder if the same thing happened to them? Every time I see that movie on TV I wonder about those kids.

When I was a young tyke, I remember spending every Sat. at the movies (all day for 50 cents). We would watch the same Double Feature 2 or 3 times. Growing up during the 50's, with all of the Radiation and UFO movies hitting the screens, we got an array of largeness---Ants, locusts, rabbits, spiders, and even a 50 foot woman. There were all kinds of Outer Space movies and the Godzilla movies from Japan. Out of all of those movies, I have never forgotten the movie "The Blob" with Steve McQueen as the teenage hero. That campy movie bugged me for years.

@penndan: You paid too much.  Saturday matinees for me were $.25 for Boris Karloff, Vincent Price, Peter Lorre. Do you remember that space fiction that was a series and had a new episode each Saturday?

I suggest this low budget movie, if you haven't seen it, it's a little different--and creepy----

Wolfen (1981) - IMDb
Director: Michael Wadleigh. Actors: Albert Finney: Dewey Wilson · Diane Venora: Rebecca Neff · Edward James Olmos: Eddie Holt · Gregory Hines

any science fiction movie with a tap dancer in it has got to be creepy!

Well, if it helps, Gregory Hines doesn't make an encore----lol
