- A crocodile can run as fast as a horse? - In a last-ditch attempt to save his car company, DeLorean, was caught in an FBI drug sting? - It is illegal to repair your car in the street in Regina, Saskatchewan? - Smarties are different colours in Canada than in the US? - Finnish is more closer related to Turkish than any other of the European languages that surround it? - That when Germany occupied Luxembourg during WWII they tried to make German the dominant language. Thei Luxumburgers resisted and spoke their local dialect, Frankische, which has now become an official language. German is still spoken by 30% of the population.

Someone actually recited pi to 100,000 digits, in about 17-18 hours, from memory.

Did you know...
- Canada has used the Metric System for over 30 years now, but Canadians tend to state their height and weight in Imperial (pounds, feet and inches) and seem unable to convert these from one system to another? - In Boston a train conductor must wear his hat to collect train fares?

sorry kneilca => animal.discovery.com their legs are way too short with long tail and belly on the ground to get any real speed going I believe you about the smarties though!

Hmm. Thanks for the correction. I'll have to go back to my source. It is either wrong or perhaps it was an alligator. TBC...
|
|
Nope. Not alligators, either. Still about 10 mi/hr top speed. There is some disinformation out there. Galloping is not necessarily as fast as a horse.
|
|
hahaha - not trying to be a smart a.., sorry for correcting your fun fact some misinformation mixed in with facts is ok - like Ripley's!

One of my more embarrassing moments was using information I read on from a Wikipedia article to support a certain point I was making. When I returned to the article for citation specs, it had changed.

My source was the venerable Bathroom Reader. It is usually accurate, but I can see how this one could get confused. So-called "galloping" crocodiles actually gallop like a horse, but no where nearly as fast.
