You want to talk about lies?

GWB was the biggest liar to ever hold the office of President because he said he had a plan for winning the Iraq war.

He got away with that lie. That lie dwarfs anything ever said by Nixon or Clinton or any other US President.

"YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!"

I'm reminded of this line from A Few Good Men... My guess is that "we" cannot handle the truth.

My guess (this is a guess only; not an op-ed) is that our leaders, determined that that particular region needed to be stabilized for OUR interests. 9-11 provided the perfect catalyst. Whether or not this was achieved is a matter for history. I don't know.

Everyone is so FOCUSED on LIES. Do you really want to hear the truth? Can you handle it? I doubt most people do or can.

Maybe, but I have been posting statements by BO in the 1A club that are mis-statements, mistakes, errors/omissions, incorrect, are not true, promises that did not happen, or possibly out and out lies.

You are welcome to read and respond. Not too many have, probably because what I post is factual and it is difficult to refute the truth.

My original post here is BO in his own words. Those are mostly promises that didn't happen.

Another thing that cracks me up is when the fools at 1A emphatically decry, "We just want everything to be fair! We have nukes, why should WE block other countries from having 'em too!"

These suckas is clueless about EVERYTHING.

They want to manintain their lifestyles AND have an equal power sharing structure across the globe that makes 'em "feel better about their country." UNREAL.

No real knowledge happening in that place.

BC, I'm not including you in this. I think you're smart; legit.

I do not feel Mr. Obama is a liar. Most of the alleged lies I have seen argued about by right wingers is part of a "gotcha" game. It doesn't have any significance or importance. Obama has been very straightforward about what he wants to do and how he goes about doing it.

I will just give one example. Obama said he wanted to make all legislation able to be inspected five days before it is voted upon. These matters are controlled by Congress, and he is not responsible if Congress doesn't do what they ought to do. The Congress's failure to follow the rules is not a "lie" told by Obama.

You can go down the list, I think we can argue all of these alleged "lies"... and waste a lot of time doing so. I think time would be better spent learning that Republicans are born liars, and if you admire born liars and weasles, give them your vote.

"I think time would be better spent learning that Republicans are born liars, and if you admire born liars and weasles, give them your vote."

-There is no hope... And I'm a Democrat; voted so in every election.

Everyone is sooo busy with petty arguments; they miss ALL the ships on the horizon and just beyond.

There is still time for me to change course, careerwise. I could take advantage of most of ya, with ease.

well said!!!
and right on the money. It is the refusal of the GOP in the House of Representatives to compromise and start passing job bills (Infrastructure, energy, education bills). And the use of the filibuster in the Senate by the GOP that have put our economy in such a fragile state. Again i say what i have said many times to people that claim 'he is taking the country in a bad direction'. The President has no power to take the country anywhere!!!, but to War (and then for only 90-days pending Congressional authorisation). The real power lies in the Congress. The failure by some people in this club to realise this salient fact is ASTOUNDING!!! THE PRESIDENT PROPOSES AND THE CONGRESS DISPOSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"the refusal of the GOP in the House of Representatives to compromise and start passing job bills (Infrastructure, energy, education bills). And the use of the filibuster in the Senate"

-There is some truth to this.

Yes there is
I believe that BC has a good point about exactly how much a President can do. Perhaps that is why we are all irritated by campaign promises. And Obama's inexperience perhaps led him a bit far off the trail. But let's go with BC's point.

Congress has to take responsibility. She is right. So let's take a look at it.

Here is one of my points about Congress. Our Senate has not brought a budget to the floor for years.

It is fair to ask that they perform this salient task if we are to turn our heads from Our Dear Leader at this time, no?

And do not say it is Republicans fault. For two reasons. We need a budget so badly. And secondly, Republicans are begging the Democrats to do so...begging them. And if I were a Democrat, I would bring it and let them shoot it down, frankly, regardless of politics. But to NOT attempt to pass a budget for years is corrupt.

Yes, corrupt. If you wanna pass the buck down from Obama, as BC suggests, pass it. But it is corruption amongst Democrats or Republicans or anyone else not to put a Budget on the floor.

Do your damn job, I say.

What do we need a budget for? Any bill about the budget would never survive a filibuster!

You really have to watch closely what goes on in Congress to understand how it works.Stop listening to other peoples take on whats going on.I know it takes time and work but its worth it. For instance; you said..

Here is one of my points about Congress. Our Senate has not brought a budget to the floor for years.

Well the Democratic majority in the Senate has brought budget bills to the floor but, 'The GOP' has filibuster them!!. That means that unless 61 votes can be found they stay tabled. Did you not know that??. Look it up. You will not find the answer on foxnews. You will have to work to find the truth.
And you said;

And do not say it is Republicans fault. For two reasons. We need a budget so badly. And secondly, Republicans are begging the Democrats to do so...begging them. And if I were a Democrat, I would bring it and let them shoot it down, frankly, regardless of politics. But to NOT attempt to pass a budget for years is corrupt.

well the Dem's did come up with a budget proposal this year and in past years. But the GOP rejects them in the House or filibuster's them in the senate. ;;politics.nytimes.com

instead of working on a budget bill the GOP is busy with wedge issues like Anti-gay,anti-abortion and anti-contraceptive issues.....(: House Speaker John Boehner said Friday he is launching a legal defense by the House of the federal law against gay marriage, which President Obama's administration has concluded is unconstitutional. The Obama administration last month announced it would no longer defend the constitutionality of the federal law that bans recognition of gay marriage. Boehner said he would convene a group of bipartisan congressional leaders that has the authority to instruct the House counsel to represent the chamber in court.

Now the GOP 'has' proposed many budgets over the past 3-years. And they have been blocked and filibustered or rejected by the democrats. The reason being that they cut taxes the wealthy and they attach anti-abortion and anti-contraception legislation to their Bills. And they will not add any revenue(taxes) increases. Just cuts. But of course they don't want Defence cuts, that would anger the Military industrial Complex. So i ask you what is the solution?? In my mind its a word that the GOP has forgotten called 'COMPROMISE'. Both sides must give a little and both sides will gain a Little. If you have the 'time' read Congressional History, and you will see that all budgets in the past were passed by compromise!!!!! So whats the problem now???DAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

isn't it the time for Compromise? For the good of America. Or we about to go down that dark path that we traveled on Jan 2 1861??

1861?
South Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, Virginia, Arkansas, Tennessee, North Carolina, Missouri, Kentucky, Territory of Arizona, The Five Civilized Tribes
(Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, and Seminole)
(Maryland halted by martial law; Delaware, though of divided loyalty, did not attempt it.)
Total 14 + = 36%+

-VS-

California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Wisconsin.
(During the war, Nevada and West Virginia joined as new states of the Union.)
Total 25

Using the same % today would mean 18 -vs- 32. Now look at the abilities of the people in those States and the skills to use the equipment available to them. How do you think things would play out today?

I'm not sure that giving libs 50% of your stuff after they demand 100% is really a compromise. More like appeasement and I don't think conservatives are in an appeasing mood.
