This is all part of the Democrats plan to get as many people on some kind of government assistance as possible. Nearly one-half the country is now receiving money from the government... paid for by those who are still working.
If you receive money from the government, you are less likely to replace that government because you do not want to take a chance on losing your "entitlement".
That is the plan... dependency on government. Forget self reliance. The only caveat being that you must vote Democrat, give up your freedoms, and become compliant, obedient and mind-numb robots.

softy: I think you are right in part. The 'other' part is the question "What is the average weekly wage compared to GDP, as against what it was say thirty years ago". Does the minimum wage compare favourably to thirty years ago in the US?
