Bill Maher on undecided voters.
“And that, in a nutshell, is America’s celebrated, undecided voter: put on a pedestal by the media as if they were Hamlet in a think-tank, searching out every last bit of information, high-minded arbiters pouring over policy positions and matching them against their own philosophies. Please, they mostly fall into a category political scientists call ‘low information voters,’ otherwise known as ‘dipshits.’”

.....or, like me, get sick to death by being asked by pollsters of what my views are on all sorts of topics so they can then go and regurgitate it to their paying client, tell them that they are undecided because they are too polite to tell them to stick their questions where the sun don't shine

Spud ...
... and you and I both know poll-taking is a little more scientific than that. Those unsolicited calls we get are really there for marketing purposes, and are largely ignored. Still, some of the good polls have legitimate margins of error; and, they are remarkably accurate.

Your right....it's just that after ive been rang for the third time during dinner, which is what happened last night, I get a bit annoyed

Spud ...
... tell me about it. I just got a new phone number ... haven't yet gotten it taken off of the do-not-call-list, and I'm getting scads of calls ... numerous 'robo' calls too ... it's plain annoying!

Polls?
Who wants to discuss polls. I think its funny he said undecided voters where dipshits. Ok truthfully I dont. I think he is offensive

I worry about polling....it's developed into a massive industry in its own right that, in an increasing number of instances, is being used to push a particular position rather than just present data in a non-partisan manner. In this country it encourages a short-terminist (sp?) approach to political decision making ie "oh no...the poll numbers are bad...lets do something, anything... quickly!!!"
