Remember this?
When the first Mars orbiters flew around Mars taking the most detailed pictures, they found one where a face was staring back up at us from the ground. It was like the Inca Nazca pictures seen from airplanes... it was obviously made by some intelligence and was a signal to us that someone had been there.
(You know that with better cameras and different light, it was shown to be just a mountain, right?)
But, it was still fun to speculate about the possibility.

... you're spot on ... it's fun to so speculate. And, honest skepticism is usually healthy. There will always be those who obsess with conspiracy and doubt, but I agree with your comment; and, I think most folks do too.
