If atlas shrugs
You tea party right wing males are NOT ready for the truth. But the science is in. I have this book and have listened to the lectures. Angry white conservative males are a minority. You are losing your grip on culture and power. And frankly, that is a good thing because you overestimate the value of your being on top. You either work together with the rest of humanity or fade onto irrelevance. If you shrug the more able will take your place.

Dan Abrams explains the irrefutable science behind that fact. Welcome to the modern, post biblical world. I dare any of you to address the science on why women are better than you are.

Not hard science, poorly researched, and not well backed up as it doesn't consider any of the data contrary to his position in the book, which Abrams himself even admits isn't a serious take on the matter.

You're not seriously suggesting this is an example of something that really influences your thinking are you?

"If atlas shrugs, the more able will take your place." Comments like this tells me yet again that you often don't know what you're talking about, though you say it with conviction.

Interesting that I run into this after you try to pontificate about Atlas.

Levin: What If 'The 57 Million' ‘Decide Not To Produce Or Provide Anymore?’
By David James, November 8, 2012

Last night, radio host Mark Levin asked, "What if we [the taxpayers] decide not to produce or provide anymore?" Levin was discussing this hypothetical scenario while talking about attacks on capitalism during the election season:

"Meanwhile, the producers in this country, the providers in this country, the taxpayers - we're all targets of the left. Well what if we decide not to produce or provide anymore? What are they gonna do without their precious taxes then?

"What if we say one day, enough is enough? What are they gonna do they? Fifty-seven million of us voted yesterday against them. "You realize we, the 57 million, we produce more income, we provide more value, more services, more products for this country than the 59 million.

"Well what if we say we don't choose to do that anymore? Screw you. "We may have to think about this."

I wonder how many people I support. What will they do if I stop?

Better yet. How about if I not only stop, but apply for UEI and every other 'benefit' I can squeeze and then kickback on that, my savings and investments, so I can as you say derisively, 'fade onto irrelevance'? Maybe it's time.

Because the book is light hearted does not mean the author is not serious. I have seen him talk and talked with Dan, and he is not joking about the science or the import. That doesn't mean it is male bashing.

Go ahead and shrug. It will be harder at first but we will survive and replace you with those more appreciative of the benefits. Others are waiting in line to take your place.

This type of thinking almost always follows a Democrat win (or Labour in the UK and Australia). One counter answer is that they will not then make all the profits they enjoy now on things they sell (or earn off the backs) to/of the other 59 million (and of course the other couple of hundred million who did not vote.

DM
Your claim is that he gives "irrefutable science" behind his claims - your words, not mine. You are also the guy all bent out of shape about "fact checking". So let's "fact check" at least two of his claims, and then you can tell the group why we should listen to him or you about anything else after this, yes?

The claim that women are better drivers? Here's a study from the journal Epidemiology from the researchers at Johns Hopkins, "refuting" that point.
www.jstor.org

The claim that women tolerate pain better? Here's a study from Psychosomatic Medicine (a journal on biobehavioral medicine) showing men had higher pain threshold.

The stuff in his book is interesting but it's not "irrefutable science". Abrams cherry picked convenient anecdotes, observations, and some science to make his book seem "sciencey". His book is like all of Gladwell's stuff, it's interesting, but its not hard science, it doesn't treat both side of the issue the same. He was trying to be provocative with his book, which is fine, but don't try and sell it as something it's clearly not.

Although it is not exactly the same thing, a very interesting but expected outcome of the elections is very similar to to the idea that we just won't produce any more.

California now has the highest tax rate in the country. Property taxes are going up and will be one of the highest. School bond issues passed with there being NO guarantee that the money raised will go to schools after the first year. Restrictions and regulations on business are being increased.

Before the election a survey found that 46% of people in California had contemplated leaving the state. Today, on the talk shows, people are being asked to call in if they actually have plans now to leave the state. (Not, if they are simply unhappy with the election and want to spout off). The show has been deluged non-stop with caller after caller talking about their plans that they have already made and are making to actually leave, move their company to another state etc.

A lot of millionaires left during the last four years. The sound you hear next will be the wind created by the rest of them leaving and sucking their employees and companies along with them.

So DM says I can be replaced with "more appreciative" and willing servants and Change says that I enjoy victimizing others for profit "earn off their backs". These comments carry both insult and supplication. I wonder... Why should I continue to fund and support those who hold such beliefs?

I expect the angry, wealthy white guy to go to where they are still in control. Some will carry out their threat to punish voters and cut jobs they made before the election, having bankrupted the country stealing from the rest of us. But the rest of us will get by. The taste of being free from the domination of angry right wing white guys is worth the cost, and we have had enough of you. Others will take their place in time. And we in turn will learn to boycott these reactionaries. I am determined we will win the war against Atlas. Ayn Rand's book was a fairy tale. As I have said many times, I would have locked john galt up for life for crimes against humanity under international law, and that is more likely that what Rand's fantasy outcome would be. Make my day and carry out your threat, please.

So for me to contemplate doing what the majority of other people in the country are doing is now being called a 'threat'. Not just a threat but a crime against humanity. 'If you don't keep carrying others we will lock you up for life' is the threat plea.

John Galt irresponsibly brought harm upon society with his plutocratic ideas harming the general populace. Had he not been rescued, he would have never seen the light of day again. I agree with those who would have done so, not those who rescued him. No personal threat to you is intended, it is just a story. But I look forward to the day when plutocrats reign no more, and the people rule. Plutocrats are parasites.
