WHY is the DHS Stockpiling weapons & Ammo?
This may explain why so many people are fighting so hard to keep the 2nd Amendment in tact.

Is the U.S. government getting ready for a war we don’t know about?

And, if that’s why Washington is stockpiling massive amounts of ammunition (hollow points, by the way), why is Homeland Security doing the buying instead of the Defense Department?

I have some theories.

Many of you will remember a story I broke a long time ago – about presidential candidate Barack Obama’s little-noticed announcement that, if elected in 2008, he wanted to create a “civilian national security force” as big, as strong and as well-funded as the Defense Department.

Here’s what he actually said at a campaign stop in Colorado July 2, 2008: “We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”

Could what we see happening now in the Department of Homeland Security be the beginning of Obama’s dream and our constitutional nightmare?

We’ve learned more about Obama’s vision since then. Maybe it’s time for a review:

He made the campaign promise to build this $439 billion domestic army, but all references to the initiative were inexplicably deleted from the copy of his speech posted on his website while others mysteriously disappeared from transcripts of the speech distributed by the campaign. That was strange – and ominous.

At the time, I had never heard anyone use the phrase “civilian national security force” before. But I did a little homework and found out where it originated. It was first proposed by then Bush administration Defense Secretary Robert Gates. On that basis alone, I accurately predicted that, if elected, Obama would name Gates as his own defense secretary. Needless to say, when that appointment came to pass, no media outlet bothered to interview me about my foresight.

Still during the campaign of 2008, I suggested that what Obama had in mind might be something very sinister indeed – perhaps “some kind of domestic Big Brother program.”
We never heard another mention of Obama’s “civilian national security force” again. Not in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 or 2012.

But that brings us up to 2013 and the highly unusual stockpiling of firearms and ammo by Homeland Security – firearms and ammo that Obama would like to deny to ordinary citizens who are not members of his domestic army.

Well, I hate to say it, but I may have predicted this, too.

In a Halloween column last fall, I stated that, if re-elected, Obama would “declare a full-scale war on his domestic opposition.”

I wasn’t joking. I was deadly serious – so serious, in fact, that I did something I pledged I would never do: Vote for Mitt Romney. It was a matter of self-defense and self-preservation. I said then that a second term of Obama might mean we would never see another free and fair election in America. (I’m not even sure we saw one in 2012.) I suggested due process would go the way of the horse and buggy. I said I expected Obama would move to shut down or destroy all independent media. I even speculated that his biggest critics would eventually be rounded up in the name of national security.

Think about it.

Why does the civilian Department of Homeland Security need billions of rounds of ammunition?

This is the agency that is responsible for policing the border. But it doesn’t.
This is the agency that is responsible for catching terrorists. But it doesn’t.

So why does Homeland Security need so many weapons and enough hollow-point rounds to plug every American six times?

Maybe this is the “civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded” as the Defense Department.

These words – “civilian national security force” – have haunted me ever since I first read them.

Obama has never explained what he meant.
He’s never been called to account for that remark.

Doesn’t this sound like police-state talk to you?

The U.S. Army alone has nearly 500,000 troops. That doesn’t count reserves or National Guard. In 2007, the U.S. defense budget was $439 billion. No one knows what the budget is today because Congress stopped passing budgets when Obama took office.

Is Obama serious about creating some kind of domestic security force bigger and more expensive than that? Is this part of his second-term agenda?

He has also set up, as I have reported, a new homeland security bureaucracy to operate under his own direction.

I think it’s worth recalling here that just over a year ago both houses of Congress unwisely passed the defense reauthorization bill that killed the concept of habeas corpus – legislation that authorized the president to use the U.S. military to arrest and indefinitely detain American citizens without charge or trial.

That legislation would empower a lame-duck Obama to use all of the power of the federal government – constitutional and unconstitutional – to target his political enemies.

If any Republican, conservative, independent journalist, pro-life activist, returning veteran, gun-rights activist, constitutionalist, Bible believer or critic of Obama thinks they will be safe in a second term under this would-be despot, they had better think again – real fast.

The “civilian national security force” is not here to protect any of them. It’s here to destroy the opposition. It’s here to destroy liberty. It’s here to destroy the Constitution.

Jesse Jackson Wants Homeland Security to Patrol Streets of Chicago

Feb. 3, 2013 8:57am, Madeleine Morgenstern

Rev. Jesse Jackson on Saturday called for the Department of Homeland Security to help patrol the streets of Chicago to deal with soaring gun violence in the city and for President Barack Obama to come and personally address the issue.

Jackson was holding a rally and march in honor of Hadiya Pendleton, the sophomore honors student shot dead in a local park days after performing at Obama’s second inauguration.

Jackson said Chicago needs more help than either Mayor Rahm Emanuel or police superintendent Garry McCarthy can provide, Reuters reported, and called for Obama to return to his hometown.

“When the president shows up, it shows ultimate national seriousness,” Jackson, a Chicago resident, said.

Jackson first called for “immediate federal intervention and Homeland Security in Chicago” Friday after homicide totals surpassed 45 for the month of January alone.

Jackson has been a proponent of new gun control measures, saying last month that “semi-automatic” and “assault weapons” need to be banned because they pose threats to national security with the capability to “shoot down planes.”

I've always wondered what Jackson was a 'reverend' of.

So, Jackson is saying that Chicago (with the strictest gun control laws in the nation) needs the DHS to patrol Chicago streets (presumably with those armed, locked & loaded AR15's) to ensure that gun violence does not occur.

Here is more on that huge stock pile of weapons and ammo for the DHS...
******************************************************************

When Adolf Hitler made his rise to power, he established the Secret State Police in 1934, headed by Heinrich Himmler. The German name for them is Geheime Staatspolizei. Taking the bolded and underlined letters from the newly formed entity you get the more familiar term, Gestapo.

The role of the Gestapo was to spy on the German people and identify any and all opposition to Hitler’s Third Reich. They were given full authority to investigate and report or suspect cases of criminal attacks against the Nazi Party along with cases of sabotage, espionage and treason. What made them so deadly and sinister was that they were also given authority to act without any judicial oversight. They became the prosecutor, judge, jury and executioner of anyone that stood in Hitler’s way.

The Gestapo was given a sizeable budget and access to all the weapons, ammunitions and spying devices they wanted. Once they established their dark reputation, they used all of those devices and weapons far too frequently. Within a few years, no one dared to say or do anything that might be considered critical of the Nazi Party and its leaders. If they did, the Gestapo or its sister agency, the SS (Security Service) moved in and took care of the alleged problem.

Eighty years later, Barak Obama talks about creating a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, strong and as well-funded as the US military. In 2008, Obama talked about his desire to create his civilian army, but many of the references to that speech have mysteriously disappeared. However, WND posted the following clip of Obama’s admission:

Joseph Farah of WND also points out that the concept of a civilian national security force seems to be the idea of Robert Gates, then Secretary of Defense under President George W. Bush. Using Gates’ idea for the civilian force, it was no surprise to some that Obama kept him on as his Secretary of Defense.

Under Obama’s supervision, the Department of Homeland Security has been purchasing thousands of assault weapons, over a billion rounds of ammunition, of which 450 million are hollow-points, bulletproof vests, riot gear, bullet-proof traffic stops and other equipment one would readily associate with an army. Nearly 200,000 rounds of ammunition are specifically designed for sniper rifles. There are also plans to place 30,000 drones in our skies to spy on us.

If that makes you nervous, the Obama administration has also given approval for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to purchase 46,000 rounds of .40 caliber hollow points. Supposedly, they were purchased for NOAA’s Fisheries Office of Law Enforcement.

If the concept of a massive well-armed civilian national security force makes you nervous, consider the fact that Obama is currently tailoring the top military leaders to fit his agenda. Those that say they are willing to shoot American citizens if ordered to, are being promoted and placed in positions of top leadership. Those that won’t fire upon fellow Americans are being replaced by those that will shoot you and me.

If you look at the DHS website, you will see the following:

“The Department of Homeland Security has a vital mission: to secure the nation from the many threats we face. This requires the dedication of more than 240,000 employees in jobs that range from aviation and border security to emergency response, from cybersecurity analyst to chemical facility inspector. Our duties are wide-ranging, but our goal is clear – keeping America safe.”

Reading this carefully, I see that they believe it is their job to spy on every American in the name of national security. Cybersecurity means they are monitoring our emails, web posts and internet searchers. Aviation encompasses the 30,000 drones that they plan to fly overhead.

DHS also has oversight of ATF and the Border Patrol. Although they fail to secure the border and protect Americans, it does give the DHS additional armed personnel already on the ground and awaiting instructions, and now they have plenty of ammunition for whatever those orders are.

Why else would Obama and the Democrats be pushing gun control legislation requiring every American to register their guns, be fingerprinted, photographed, and have a background check run on them? They know that there are over 300 million guns in the hands of private citizens and they want to know where they all are so they can use their superior weaponry to confiscate our guns.

When you add everything up, it seems that the Department of Homeland Security is becoming Obama’s civilian national security force. With the powers being given to them the weaponry and ammunition they have purchased, they are taking on many of the same aspects of Hitler’s Gestapo and Janet Napolitano may be the next Heinrich Himmler.

Obama Reported to be Dismissing Military Leaders Who Will Not Fire on Civilians if Ordered

Noble Peace Prize nominee and humanitarian Dr. Jim Garrow is not known for outrageous accusations. Dedicated to his humanitarian work, he has not ventured into the spotlight for a moment other than to write a book about the trouble of China’s one-child policy. That has changed as he has recently divulged information he says he received from a former senior military leader in the Obama Administration.

Garrow announced:

“I have just been informed by a former senior military leader that Obama is using a new ‘litmus test’ in determining who will stay and who must go in his military leaders. Get ready to explode folks. ‘The new litmus test of leadership in the military is if they will fire on US citizens or not.’ Those who will not are being removed.”

Dr. Jim Garrow has spent the last 16 years rescuing baby girls from the harsh realities and near-certain death of China’s one-child-per-couple rule. From his efforts to raise awareness of the problem and his willingness to facilitate the adoption of these infants, it is estimated that he has saved 40,000 babies and has been considered for a Nobel Peace Prize. While he has not released who his source is, Garrow has maintained a pretty low profile and seems to not be associated with any fringe ideologies.

It is a bold accusation, but one that fits into a bigger picture. As America becomes, arguably, more and more polarized, states have discussed secession and state and county officials all across the country have publicly claimed that they will refuse to enforce executive orders that violate the Second Amendment.

Whether one agrees that America should be so polarized or not, the fact remains that this revelation comes at a time when America is deeply divided on a variety of issues ranging from gun rights to the basic question of how to solve any one of our fiscal crises. With such deep divides, the issue of secession has been discussed and people all across the country have expressed worry at a looming federal presence.

Added to the volatile mix of ideologies is the recent executive orders that were aimed at enacting gun control measures and the near-constant threat of outright bans on many firearms. Such speculation has fueled dissent and discussion amongst mainstream Americans as to how far the government ought to be allowed to go.

The Washington Free Beacon recently reported that the head of Central Command, Marine Corps Gen. James Mattis is being dismissed by President Obama and will leave his post in March. While unwilling to divulge the source, Garrow stated, “The man who told me this is one of America’s foremost military heroes.”

If what Garrow says is true, than this is sure to rouse anger and distrust from conservatives across the country who have accused the president of exceeding his authority on numerous occasions and have voiced concern over sweeping policies that are of dubious legalities. If Obama is preparing to stock his inner-circle with only those that will follow his orders beyond what should rightfully be expected from soldiers who have sworn to protect this nation, than America may see a turbulent four years.

The true irony of Obama’s presidency is that while reports such as the aforementioned have surfaced and as drone attacks continue across the globe and families mourn the loved ones lost as a result of the Justice Department’s flood of weapons to Mexican cartels, President Obama actually received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009.

Softaire I personally would expect loyal citizens to kill/execute without pity any armed seditionists, "civilians" or not. Live by the sword, die by the sword. Being a right wing Nobel prize nominee (not that hard) who lost to Obama must have been humiliating and maddening to the good doctor. So now the guy peddles refuted conspiracy theories like Lanza not having the rifle. This new claim is considered false by snopes. Anonymous second hand gossip is just that. But I recognize your sides hatred is so great that we will never come to any agreement on the news. We have competing visions that are irreconcilable. If it takes civil war to settle the great matter so be it. Anything is better than you extremists assuming power. An attempted right wing coup is righly considered the greatest domestic threat.

The world is made up of conspiracy theorists and coincidence theorists. The funny thing about history? Want to know what the really, really interested things about history? It's nothing BUT conspiracies, one right after another, after another, after another . . . but this time . . . it's different . . . clearly . . . the heart of man has significantly changed in the last few years, or *coincidentally* about the time a black, democrat president was elected.

Obama knows the dollar is going to collapse and people will be pissed. DHS, and the president seems to also hope, the military and police are being set up and trained to deal with a few hundred million pissed off and probably armed americans. Why wouldn't this this president be interested in the confirmation of his top brass that they will kill American citizens if he asks them? Wasn't I told more than once that president Obama is "pragmatic".

Yes Illi, for about 2 seconds.

Notice he said "civilian NATIONAL security force" not "armed civilian force". If you're going to put that in quotations, at least be accurate. Anyway, how many bosses do you think those myriad different law enforcement agencies answer to? Not just one as implied by, "'A' blah blah blah force". What's State and Local law enforcement's 'mission'? Is it to, "achieve the national security objectives"? No. Their authority is local not national. Are State and local law enforcements as powerful as the military? Not the last time I looked.

Honestly, that wasn't even a clever question. I'm a little disappointed. Are you just fishing to see who'll bite or trying to build a rhetorical house of cards?

Snopes tries to be objective unlike righties. The vast right wing conspiracy has flourished since Reagan left office. They cost bush 41 reelection over taxes, they hounded the Clintons with endless lies, and their vile attacks intensified to new heightts of hatred when Obama won. All properly predicred by Paul Krugman before Obama became President. Any non tea party President is doomed to endless vilification, lies and blind hate. It is true he world order is shifting and big trouble lies but that was due to blunders made before Obama took office. The actual context of Obama's comments before he was elected and before the economy collapsed is clear and the righties falsify and conspire anyway. It is just their nature. The threat of right wing armed actions to try and impose their views based on endless conspiracy theories is quite real; the vast right wing conspiracy is the only major and valid domestic conspiracy theory I know of as proven.

The Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 was passed to prevent U.S. military personnel from acting as law enforcement agents on U.S. soil. This was obviously done in an attempt to avoid a military rule and occupation of this country. Truth be told, I am a bit concerned about how this act is being watered down and weakened. More so with each military exercise conducted within our cities.

Obama said he wants a united 'civilian' force equal to our military. That's a pretty damn powerful force walking our streets. Such a force would bypass the military chain of command and be answerable to just a few well placed political civilians. This force would not be bound by the UCMJ or rules of land warfare, Hague or Geneva accords. Note all the hollow point ammo purchased by the DHS? This ammunition is illegal for military but not for civilian. How fast is the TSA growing?

Our liberties are safe so long as our civilian courts are run by juries.

The firepower of Law enforcement is not a worry. In fact, I believe the more firepower they have, the better off everyone is.

One of the things that drove me nuts about Bush was his distrust of our jury system. He was always trying to switch citizens over to military tribunerals for trial, have trials with secret evidence, etc... (It turns out, he found to his disgust, its harder to get a conviction in those courts.)

Proginoskes - Obama has followed the Law and he has corrected many of the abuses of the earlier President. I don't know what you are so worked up about. Come up out of your bunker. It won't save you anyway. Look at that nut in Alabama. They shot and killed his ass.

More firepower for law enforcement? You've got to be joking. How about the cops who hosed down the women delivering news papers in California? You want them to have more firepower? They were looking for former LA police officer Chris Dorner when they saw a truck that looked like his and started hosing it down with gunfire. The only reason those women survived is because of who was shooting at them.

Cops are gunning down kids, dogs, women, vehicles and houses, whatever happens to be in front of them when they quickly and frantically start pulling the trigger. It's almost a free-fire zone now. A quick google search brings up pages and pages of examples why police should be relegated to a revolver and two speed loaders with a shotgun locked safely in the trunk of their cruiser.

When they're outfitted like combat soldiers they take on the mentality of combat soldiers. They're suppose to be Peace Officers not Combat Infantry. Their authority comes from the badge on their chest not a select-fire weapon in their hand.

I don't have a bunker and I'm well aware that one man in one isolated bunker will eventually lose to the jack-boots at the moment. Bunkers are only useful in certain situations, none of which we are currently in. And I'm not worked up at all. There is nothing to be worked up about, not anymore, not really. Obama continues the agenda started a long time ago. The police state has moved forward, not backward, and I think it matters little if there is a "law" about it. He has continued rendition, continued the patriot act without revision, expanded the use of drones, and his DOJ went to court to make sure the NDAA 2012 provision that allows for permanent, no trial detention of US citizens remained, even after a Federal Judge ruled it unconstitutional. And more. If you don't find any of that particularly problematic . . . well . . . you're going to get the outcome you deserve.

The right wing echo chamber effect has been noted even by GOP figures as a problem. When righties don't like facts they make their own. However the fact checks disproving the right wing spin on this issue are accurate.
