The 'reeducation' continues...West Point Cadets Taught Patriots Are Terrorists [Note: AFP has a habit of branding people by their religion or ancestry, particularly Jews. It is not important that Arie Perliger is Jewish. What is important is what he is teaching the cadets at West Point. He is teaching the future Army Officers at West Point to distrust those of us in the Patriot movement, or those in the Tea Party. - Shorty Dawkins, Associate Editor] • Influential study published by an Israeli academic at America’s top military school seeks to brainwash future military leaders into believing those who advocate small government, individual sovereignty, freedom and liberty are the enemy By Victor Thorn February 13, 2013 AFP At West Point where cadets are groomed into officers, a new 148-page report released on January 15 is urging enlisted men and women to be on alert for “terrorists” in the form of those who consider themselves patriots. This study, released by the United States Military Academy’s Combating Terrorism Center, is entitled “Challengers from the Sidelines: Understanding America’s Violent Far-Right.” Its author, Professor Arie Perliger, the Director of Terrorism Studies at the Combating Terrorism Center and Assistant Professor at the Department of Social Sciences at West Point, holds membership in the Council on Foreign Relations and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, as well as being a former instructor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Considering his background, Perliger warns that growing legions of conservative-minded citizens across the U.S. pose a serious threat to our nation’s safety. Yet, whom precisely does Perliger deem as being affiliated with what he labels the “violent far right?” In his own words, Perliger placed a bulls-eye on those who “espouse strong convictions regarding the federal government, believing it to be corrupt and tyrannical, with a natural tendency to intrude on individuals’ civil and constitutional rights.” Even more specifically, Perliger asserted that other so-called extremists fall into the categories of anti-federalists, fundamentalist Christians, survivalists, gun-rights advocates, libertarians, pro-lifers, and those who oppose high taxation. oathkeepers.org |

www.youtube.com Interesting that you use the 'patriots' as your primary example of terrorists. It’s a sad state of affairs when a group of citizens who only wish to peacefully restore the founding principles of our nation are exemplified by the libs and their media as a possible target of our military. It looks very much like a large scale lib SWATTING attempt. Funny how the 'patriot' is continuously smeared by the libs and their media, even though when they do hold rally’s they are peaceful, non-violent and calm to the point where little to no police presence is ever required and you would struggle to even find any sign of the protest after it has finished (no garbage, etc.). They leave the area cleaner than they found it. Whenever Liberals, leftists and democrats 'protest', it's rife with crime, violence, civil unrest, trash strewn streets and destruction. City workers have to come in and clean up the mess and repair the damage to city property, business owners have to get the damage done to their businesses repaired, etc. Those who matter are paying attention to who the real terrorists are. |

Students who are interested in going to a school like West Point or the Naval Academy are pretty high achieving and intelligent young people, who probably arrive with different attitudes that undoubtably change throughout their studies there. I think it's safe to say that many students arrive gung-ho about the military without any greater understanding for what the military is, it's role in government and so on. Many of these students probably leave West Point with a much more mature and comprehensive understanding of what they were previously so superficially passionate about. I can see how teaching the above ideas would be extremely valuable in any number of classes regarding ethics, political science, history and so on. Especially at a school that is educating future government leaders. Presenting material like this will surely spark debate among students, which I believe is the intention. |
