Shootout?
Let me get this straight; The police mistake a blue Toyota Tacoma with two Hispanic women inside, one 47 and the other 71 years old, for a gray 2005 Nissan Titan with a 33 year old 6' tall 270 pound shaved headed black guy inside. Instead of performing a standard felony stop, 8 police officers decide to hose the truck down with 102 shots. They hit houses, trees and garages as well as the truck. Amazingly under such a barrage, they managed to actually hit their 'targets' with 3 of the shots (one of the women twice in the back and the other in the thumb). That's a solid 3% hit ratio on cowering, stationary targets that arent shooting back. Even more amazingly, they didn't hit each other. It seems that the safest place to be when the LAPD start shooting is directly in front of them.

And BTW, why is NBC4 trying to call this 'a shootout'?

8 LAPD officers involved in shooting after Dorner 'case of mistaken identity'

LAPD Capt. Phil Tingirides and LAPD Sgt. Emada Tingirides recalled fearful and anxious days under police protection, after their eight-member family was targeted by former LAPD officer Christopher Dorner.

Bullet holes in front doors, trees and a kitchen serve as reminders of the chaos brought to their Torrance, Calif. neighborhood during a frantic manhunt for an ex-police officer bent on revenge killings.

Nine bullets pierced a tree on Redbeam Avenue where two newspaper delivery women were shot by police officers who had mistaken them for fugitive Christopher Dorner.

Margie Carranza and her 71-year-old mother, Emma Hernandez, were delivering the Los Angeles Times before dawn near the home of a police officer named in Dorner’s angry manifesto.

The shooting occurred Feb. 7 after officers were notified of a truck that matched the description of Dorner’s gray 2005 Nissan Titan. Hernandez suffered two bullet wounds to the back. She was released from the intensive care unit and was recovering. Carranza, 47, had minor injuries related to shattered glass and a wounded finger.

The women’s lawyer counted 102 bullet holes in their blue Toyota Tacoma and several more in Hernandez’s hoodie.

Weeks later, memories of the shooting were still evident, with five bullet holes piercing a home’s front door and more in walls and garages that lined the street.

"My guess is that they threw policy out the window and got in trouble," said resident Steve McDonald, whose solar panels sustained bullet damage. "They're lucky they didn't hit each other because there were bullets flying every which way."

More news from NBCLosAngeles.com

NBC4 has learned that eight LAPD officers were involved in the shootout. All of them have been assigned to non-field assignments until "the [police] chief decides otherwise."

So far, their names have not been released and there has been no comment from the Los Angeles District Attorney about pressing charges.

An attorney for the women, Glen Jonas said he’ll let the investigation run its course.

"If the city wants to do it the easy way and get it resolved; if they want to do it for hard way, then we’ll file a lawsuit," he said.

Police said they cannot comment on on-going internal investigations.

But some residents, despite being so close to the gunfire, said they understand the officers’ actions.

"I think they have to be supported through this," said Joanne Arnn. "Yes, it's unfortunate, thank goodness no one here was fatally injured, but it's not a very safe world."

Arnn said that Torrance Police Department contacted each household on the block to learn if anyone was injuries and offered to pay for any damage to their homes.

About two blocks away and thirty minutes after the women were shot, a Redondo Beach man was fired upon by officers who also mistook him for the wanted Dorner.

Gun mentality: Shoot first ask later. Reap what you sow.

Seriously I think every single cop involved in the shooting should be booted from the force!

Not just booted from the force, prison. How about negligence, gross misconduct, reckless endangerment, assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder? Combat Marines in Afghanistan are held to stricter standards. If they did the same thing there, they would already be in jail facing Courtmartial.

There was nothing to do with the subject in that hotlink Change. You know I don't step on posts but that youtube hotlink was so close to porn I couldn't tell the difference. I can't believe you intended to post that. Damn dude, what sites do you frequent?
Make sure your copy/past is what you intend. Check the preview/post before you submit the post so you don't inadvertently post the wrong thing.

Apologies thumper the one I copied was on police brutality. There was NO intention whatsoever of posting raunchy material (I don 't even look at that stuff!). I will try and get it again and make sure it is what it says.

NP. Sometimes when you get stuff on youtube it redirects to something you're not intending. That's why I always check it in 'preview' before I 'post now'.

Gun control? What can you do ?
It is very clear to me that police are shooting recklessly and when law enforcement police officers are shooting their guns recklessly, how can Obama's gun control do them ?

True gun control (proper handling and discharging of firearms), apparently means little to many in law enforcement as evidenced by the erratic and frenzied spraying of bullets in the general direction and vicinity of two terrified and innocent women. Sadly, this is not an isolated incidence.
In the gun culture, their tactic is derisively called, 'spray and pray'; They spray out as many bullets as their weapon holds as fast as they can, and pray that one of their bullets may actually hit their intended target. The term is used to describe an inept and pitifully incompetent shooter who is trying to overcome their lack of ability and judgement with volume of fire.

Unfortunately, that seems to fit the description of the two incidents I have heard of in this case.

So, we are supposed to surrender our personal firearms and trust our safety to these guys who seem to have been in so much fear that they "spray & Pray" at Hispanic women and a White guy.
Do I understand that correctly?
