Female NASCAR driver? What?
And she's good too? I have never liked or cared about NASCAR, but I do now. Danica Patrick is awesome! How did I not know that a woman, a real woman- not some butch feminist nutcase- was a NASCAR driver?

Love her!

... she's been around a coupla years now, earning some respect. She's gutsy and seems to fit into the "crowd" ... but I'm no NASCAR fan particularly. That was some crash yesterday, nevertheless ... and despite the risk of injury, most fans like to witness that sort of thing.

There are awesome women everywhere Tat. They don't get much positive exposure because the libs and their media are terrified of them. Of what they might say, of what they represent, of the example they provide. I just now got back from a grueling 6 hour offroad motorcycle race and guess what, there were about a dozen women in the race, representing well.

... Stinky ... well, she's been in the limelight for the last coupla years "in particular," but you're right of course. Before then, no one knew her name very much.

... Thump ... I don't understand the "libs" comment ... what has politics to do with good gutsy sports abilities by women?

Good example for Islamic militants !
In Saudi Arabia where Islam was born, women are not allowed to drive a car. I don't know how modern day Islamists got this idea because there were no cars when Islam was born. So, there was nothing in the Koran about cars and whether women should drive the cars or not. They just want women to be secondary citizens subject to men's whims. Women have equal rights and the opportunities for them are unlimited.

I think I had heard about her when she was doing a different kind of racing. Which I didn't find anywhere as notable as NASCAR. Just due to the politics and amount of money on the line. I think that she has or will make more women interested in watching races for the purpose of cheering her on. But that wouldn't last if she sucks, and clearly she doesn't. Some women may not like her because she is attractive and has brought that element to NASCAR.

The reason why this is a liberal issue is because, in my opinion and experience, liberals tend to talk about women and think of women as though they are defined by being reproductive organs walking around who can vote. If women are not democrats, it is assumed that they either don't know what is going on or are labeled traitors. See the way changeling talked to me in a recent thread in addition to checking out the link he posted for me, to help me "understand" women's issues.

Anyway, if Danica Patrick didn't support things like abortion and was religious she would be labeled a traitor, and wouldn't be considered a "real" woman. That's the message anyway.

tat ...
... I respectfully disagree with the "liberal" tendencies as you've stated them; and, I'll refrain from listing parallel conservative stereotypes just to refute your conclusions. Regretfully, it seems your experiences may have influenced these opinions, of course ... and I'll respect that ... but it is not either a typical liberal or typical conservative point of view. It may be among both the edges of liberalism or conservatism (or other extremes).

You are so full of it!

"...See the way changeling talked to me in a recent thread in addition to checking out the link he posted for me, to help me "understand" women's issues..."

Way out of context tat. Why don't you actually try reading posts in full and in context for a change.

Danica should stay away from controversial issues !
like abortion and religion. She is not a politician and she can stay away from those issues if she remains silent. She has the rights to remain silent. She is still young, cute, athletic and smart. Rather she should cash in on her beauty tight now. She will have a lot of endorsement. She should appear in swim suit or bikini and a lot of people would like to see her beautiful body if any. I bet she will do what I just said. " Make hay while the sun shines. "

Yes, that has been my experience. I'm talking about male liberals. Older female liberals are usually so far off the reservation that their political ideology is the least of their problems.

Not all male liberals talk to women or about women's issues/rights as though women are special morons. But all men who do talk to/about women this way are, in my experience, liberals.

Not once have I ever met a conservative man/guy who talks to women or about women this way.

More conservatives are womanizers (than liberals) but none of them (at least that I've seen) talk to women like they're total morons. Womanizing is nothing to write home about either. Who cares.........in fact, dare I say that conservatives think about women as....I don't know, normal people who represent 50% of the population? Therefore some women are useless wastes of space, other women are dumb but good to take advantage of and others are smart and valuable.

In other words they think about women in the same way that I think about men.

That's what my experience has been.

Changeling
I didn't take anything out of context.

How about you grow a pair and stand behind the link that you posted for me.

You and I both know what the hell that website says. Don't we?

I do stand behind the link I posted: That website has a wide variety of issues tat, mostly political. The main thrust is against many bills being introduced to contain women's rights. It also promotes women in politics, mostly from women. It does not denigrate women at all as you have implied a few times now. It may well be a 'liberal' women's site in your eyes, to me it is about women's issues and the political denigration of women mostly by the far right of politics, and of course interference by the religious in secular matters pertaining to women. Your snide comments and attitude towards me is getting a little lame tat, how about you pull your head in.
