Welcome to Queen's Castle! Sign in please!
The candles are lit and waiting for you... there will be no frog prince's here, Only ladies who are Gender specific as women on their profile will be accepted. Whether you are a queen or a wench, you are welcome to participate in any discussion here. AND welcomed to start any discussion here as long as it follows GK rules.

Sign in and let your imagination flow!

Personally I know very few people here, you won't be trying to fit into a clique, you will be accepted in all your womanly glory!

Women are just different creatures, and we struggle to fit into a man's world in many ways, even on the chess board.

Suggestions will always be welcomed! Opinions will be respected (maybe not all will be understood) but respect is a MUST in this club.

Now let's see how girlie we can be, how many games we can win individually, and still be available to cook dinner, take care of kids and our martians!

Welcome ladies!!!

Who I am...
Im the 1st to sign in, and have a great feeling about this, because there are some wonderful women here who just happen to love chess too!

I'm a writer and have been since I was young, tried my hand at being a beautician but didnt like it.... so I became a Librarian...no complaints about that.

Im a 47 yr old mother of one who is a pastor, grandmother to 5 wonderful children, full-time mommy to two Yorkies and 2 cats. And have a husband who I will call Hagar because that's my pet name for him.(Yes from the comic strip). He clubbed me in the head, drug me home and we've been together for the 11 years since. He's a good man tho, but still a Hagar.

Introduction to chess really didnt come until I was 18, when I began playing real games anyways. 2 + Years ago a friend bought me a subscription here so we could play together, and Ive been a paying member since.

My game has been skewed by too many people trying to teach me to play and I've gone from an 1100 rating down to nearly 900 again, not that it matters, I have fun playing. The dance of a knight around the chessboard can be a beautiful thing, the loneliness of the queen waiting for her chance to get into the game... as I dont bring mine out right away, I make her wait.

It will be great to be among women in a male dominated game, and frankly some of their scores have gone to their heads... so what, can they give birth? NO! So they aren't ALL that after all!!! LOL

Tag.... You're it!

Hi from Texas
I'm Robyn and a very novice chess player. I've only been playing for a year and a half and have yet to play a real chess game over the board! But I'm hooked, that is for sure.

Currently I'm in school studying Geographical Information Systems and working on my pilot's license on the side. I'm 42 and have been married for almost 19 years. He is a great guy with one exception: he is not the slightest bit interested in chess... Oh well, can't have everything!

Other than studying, I love making jewelry (chainmaille is my specialty, although I make all sorts of jewelry). I also volunteer at St. Francis Wolf Sanctuary where I help care for 12 wolves and wolf-dogs.

This is a great forum where we can get to know other women players and talk about our love of the game amongst other things!

Welcome Zombieslayer!
My husband played here once,, just to play against me when we could have just as easily played in the living room! lol He is much much better than I am but just doesnt have the urge to play often. Except when my grandson comes. We both delight in teaching him chess... thank you Robyn & welcome to the club!

I'm Terri...
and I'm the captain of Castle Collectors, so named because my favorite move is to take my Bishop and travel allllll the way across the board to capture a Rook. I love that move. I've lost many games going after those pretty castles and not paying attention to my King!

I did not set out to have a team of my own....that's a very long story. But it's been a lot of fun and I've learned so much from the captains on here.

I live in the USA in North Carolina. I recently quit my job, so I'm trying to keep my brain from turning into jello. Chess helps me with that. I have two grown daughters and two beautiful grandchildren. My husband will be retiring later this year and we hope to be able to so some traveling.

Cathy, thank you so much for creating the is club and inviting me here!

Actually...
my then four year old grandson got my iPad and found my Chess App. His mom and I were talking and weren't really paying much attention to what he was doing. It seems he had typed his name into the app and was playing chess. Soon we heard him say "Checkmate?! No way!!!"

I can't wait to teach him how to play!
