Welcome to Everyone!
Hi everyone!

A warm welcome to my new club!

To give all you potential runners a bit of a lift off, what is a better way to start than to annotate this game which is an Expert Draw. In this game, although I was on the back foot, I manage to lock up the position so that despite being a pawn minus in a rook and pawn endgame, my opponent could not make headway and ended up (no doubt with teeth-gnashing - time to see The Dentist methinks!) accepting my draw offer.

Here is this game which shows that it is possible for the Underdog to triumph.

I hope you are all having a nice weekend.

Kind regards and bye for now!

Walkers & Runners MT
Hi everyone!

I am thinking of starting up a Walkers & Runners MT with 11 players including myself. Not at this current moment, though. What I could do is file down my current games once they are complete. I am playing a lot of unrated games at the moment. One way of getting round this is to notify my current opponents outside this club that I am going to do this and to invite them to join our club at the same time. Once that MT is complete, depending on how many more new members we get, I can always run a second MT so that everyone in this club gets a game with one another!

Kind regards

Joanne

Welcome Alfredafred and Blitzkov!
Hi Alfredafred and Blitzkov!

Welcome to our Club. I am also writing to let you know that you will be receiving an invitation no later than February 2013 to join my Welcome MT Part 3.

I am also in the process of allocating players rated U2000 into mentoring groups. If you have a look in the Mentoring thread you will see which group I have placed you in.

Kind regards

Looking forward to jogging with you all!
Just a quick introduction to all of you as I'm one of the newer members. I've noticed that I also have the lowest rating of the group (for now...) at 825. i look forward to turning some brisk walking into some running, but only after learning from all of you.

A bit about me, I'm 33 and live in Colorado in the US. I spend my work day as a management consultant. I spend my weekends or holidays skiing, hiking/biking, traveling, poorly playing mandolin (slowly teaching myself), learning to play chess better, and enjoying time with my lovely wife.

I've recently renewed my interest in chess. However my earliest memory of it is as a teenager being taught the game by my uncle. I remember him having multiple boards in his home office in various states of play as he awaited the next move to arrive in the mail from a far away opponent. Not unlike how we all play each other now, but certainly without the fun of the group forum chatter.

Thanks for allowing me to join the club,
Jeff
