Brigadecommander mentoring group
Hi everyone!

Due to a typo I have had to amend the above thread to read as follows:-

Brigadecommander – 2265 – Group D

1. Cheeky-knight – 1656
2. bwaa - 1653
3. fr1ar - 1608
4. ptitroque - 1581

It would be helpful if these players message me privately, or post here about how they wish to proceed with mentoring or a game series.

Kind regards

Joanne

Mentoring group
It doesn't matter to me how we proceed. I have a lot of games going right now, so I would prefer at least 5 day games but it don't really matter.

Hi everyone!

I'm pretty open to anything; one thing I would definitely be interested in is an unrated mentoring game with open dialogue throughout regarding plans, reasons for doing things, and so on. But really, I'm pretty flexible--might need to upgrade my account to allow more games though!

Best,
Henry

Brigade commander MG
Hello everybody,
Happy new year to you.
I'm ok for many a system. I prefer 3 days games but 5 would be ok as well.
We can play games with comments after or chatting, asking questions, commenting the game during it or use both methods.

Bye

That's the spirit, Pitroque!
Hi everyone!

I have now annotated a game played between Pitroque and his Mentor, Janet, Brigadecommander as follows:-

gameknot.com

Pitroque put up a spirited performance, a mating attack, which alas did not happen for him. Janet fought back and won copious amounts of material which forced resignation on the grounds of ruinous loss of material.

Still, keep it up!

Kind regards

@ Thanks to Joanne, mentors and others
Thanks to encourage me. I felt surprised about my last game because some moves seemed evident to me although they were not so evident apparently.
I'm quickly improving my chess level and it's largely due to this club and the masters which opened my mind to new dimensions of the game, dimensions that I just begin to explore. I have still a long way to go walking before I can run more than a couple of moves so as to be able to beat a master. (anyway it's my fault, if I had followed brigadecommander's advaice, I would have plaid slowlier and may be, may be, I would not have overseen this 20th move but so does one learn, c'est la vie).
Kind regards
Charly

Opening studies
Hello,
I'm at the moment studying the benoni, but I'm also interrested in other openings (particularly the english). Is someone interrested to practise them and if yes how ?

English/Benoni
@ptitroque, I have a little familiarity with the English and basically none at all with the Benoni, but I'd be happy to play some games with you in either one or both.

Annotation
Here's my first Benoni game against ptitroque: a very interesting fight! Any comments on it would be much appreciated.

As Bwaa does the anotation work far better than I do. I'll add large comments to this game.

@brigadecommander (and others)
I like the benoni for the edged to edged situations it creates with agressive possibilities for black. It doesn't leads to pawnwalls. But I'm not satisfied anylonger with the opening I use as black when white opens with the king pawn (scandinavian). Is there any opening similar to the benoni that can be used in this fall (king's pawn gambit ? Some kind of sicilian ?)
