Zorro
Well said.
None the less, I suspect neither of us are professional entertainers, as such our words might
more be expected to be well thought, and not like the words of a pretending oaf like Bill Mahr
who merely seeks to increase his TV ratings with provocative comments. Bill Mahr purposely
speaks the words of a fool. It is for laughs. He makes his millions by doing so. For all we
know, he is a closet conservative. He obviously is a successful capitalist. In any case, few take
him seriously. At best his words die before the laughter fades.

I know of only one such limiting authority: ourselves. Each of us may limit ourselves as we

The government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government, and this is necessary to close the circle of our felicity.

Thomas Jefferson, First Inaugural Address.

We can't do anything to change the world until capitalism crumbles.

In the meantime we should all go shopping to console ourselves .....

Tea anyone?
"The US Federal Government spends $312 billion a month, however they take in only $172
billion a month in taxes.  That means it must beg, borrow or steal about $140,000,000,000
each month (that's four commas per year by my reckoning).  I hope it never comes to begging
for it.  Currently, they mostly borrow it, however I've heard some serious talk of stealing it by
focusing more tax requirements on a small sector of our current tax payers, those who hire
folks.  What's up with that?  My business couldn't possibly survive for long, spending 82%
more than comes in.  I recon, the US Government can't either.  I say the Tea Party is on the
right path.  It is high time to spend within our means.". LAC

Earners and takers
He who conserves what he has tends to increase what he has.
He who has nothing tends to vote for handouts from he who increases what he has.
Who is rewarded?
Where does this lead?

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people."My son, the battle is between 2 wolves inside us all. One is evil. It is anger, sorrow, regret, arrogance, self-pity, inferiority, ego. The other is good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness, gratitude, truth, compassion and faith." The grandson thought for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?" The old Cherokee replied, "The one you feed."

"Always that same LSD story, you've all seen it. 'Young man on acid, thought he could fly,
jumped out of a building. What a tragedy.' What a d***! f*** him, he’s an idiot. If he thought he
could fly, why didn’t he take off on the ground first? Check it out. You don’t see ducks lined up
to catch elevators to fly south—they fly from the ground, ya moron, quit ruining it for
everybody. He’s a moron, he’s dead—good, we lost a moron, f***in’ celebrate. Wow, I just felt
the world get lighter. We lost a moron! I don’t mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I
am, so that’s the way it comes out. Professional help is being sought. How about a positive LSD
story? Wouldn't that be news-worthy, just the once? To base your decision on information rather
than scare tactics and superstition and lies? I think it would be news-worthy. 'Today, a young
man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we
are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is
only a dream and we're the imagination of ourselves' . . . 'Here's Tom with the weather.'"

If a man has an apartment stacked to the ceiling with newspapers we call him crazy. If a woman has a trailer house full of cats we call her nuts. But when people pathologically hoard so much cash that they impoverish the entire nation, we put them on the cover of Fortune magazine and pretend that they are role models."

Wealthy people
"I have never known a wealthy person to hoard cash. The many I know spread it around in
the economy by investing prudently. Thus creating jobs for those who desire to earn their own
cash. Every rich person that I know follows a simple principle that all are free to follow: they
diligently spend less than they earn. The beauty of this simple principle is that as the wealth
grows, it becomes easier to continue to follow the principle."
I recommend, to all who enviously want the wealthy to share what they have earned to instead
earn some of their own. Most do not have the self discipline to follow this simple principle.
Those who do, do.
Quit complaining and get with the program. It works.

More concretely, the favored investment of the wealthy American is the triple-A rated municipal bond.
Not the most effective way to invest wealth so as to yield new asset value, build national competitive advantage, support new growth industries, fuel entreprenurial growth, or to create jobs. In chess, it is the equivalent of only advancing blocked pawns to secure a closed fortress, instead of advancing passed pawns that are promotable into greater assets.

And that pablum about spending less than you earn will not help the 50 million Americans who are supported by an income that means living paycheck to paycheck.
