Obama Speech Nailed It!
It is a choice of world views, and of visions. A majority of us the 99% did it, not just obama. The values of citizenship did it, not john galt and the rich. The choice is stark, and turning back is not the solution. The comparison with robot romney will I think make the difference.

Amazing DM...Amazing
i was with the Vt delegation for the three days and heard it all!!. What a contrast to Tampa. This was the night the GOP lost it all!! Not just the Presidency, but down ticket also. They will loose the House now and fail to retake the Senate.

... I very much appreciate a post convention optimism, and Obama's speech was indeed well delivered, positive, and spot-on yet without any excessive anti-Romney/Ryan rants. However, your predictions seem a little premature considering the polls and counts among those who do not hold Obama dear. Are you just caught up in the moment with a healthy optimistic spirit?

my favorite line
'take two tax cuts, roll back a few regulations and call us in the morning.' in fact, i think that is what the republicans are proposing as a health care policy to replace obamacare

I think Obama was more pragmatic this time and is well aware that the election will be close, his opponents are intractable and uncompromising, and there is limited prospect to move forward much until the tea party GOP is marginalized. It is more about outlining the contrast with the extremist philosophy the GOP and tea party are trying to sell under the guise of an Obama can't do anything right and the government is your enemy attack, as if turning the country over to market interests would be better. It is about keeping the hordes of past focused tea party barbarians at bay so they can't destroy our future, and highlighting incumbency against a weak and shallow opponent who has been all over the map politically and overestimates his abilities. I think in the end given a polarized nation the election must be about what Romney/Ryan offer and that they would be much worse in comparison, since Obama can't solve the gridlock problem.
