romney
acting like he cares...

www.theatlanticwire.com

after ryan's vogus homeless shelter stunt, this is pretty silly.

where is your evidence that he doesn't care?

your accusation is that he is "acting"

can you prove this?

proof?
of course not. and he probably does care about his wife, kids, church (although not sure about his dog).

what i do know is that his campaign made a cynical political decision to buy food to make it appear that his campaign stop was a disaster relief effort when it was not. that his campaign bought food and laid it out on the table. then they allowed supporters to pick it up and bring it back and put it down so it appeared to be donations from supporters.

all in all, not the worst thing in the world. just another indication that this campaign will stoop to anything to make it look like mitt cares.

why didn't they just ask supporters to bring donations and collect them? why have the campaign buy them? and if he really wanted the campaign to donate, why not just give the cash, or the food, directly to the red cross?

i think you know why.

Why not have the campaign buy supplies? I still not exactly sure that is so controversial?

And I wouldn't give anything to the red cross following they way they handled donations following 9/11.

jd
are being purposefully obtuse? it is not controversial... it is lame ass. they could not, apparently, just buy food and donate it directly. of course not. how could they get credit for it like that?, i ask you.

so they bought food, brought it their rally spot, took pictures of people falsely donating it, and used that as a pr photo op. that is lame. not controversial. not the worst thing in the world, not terrible.

just the way, it seems, ryan and romney, or to be fair, their campaigns, play ball. dishonest and cynical.

I see. Your point is why make an issue of it at all. Just do it and be quiet about it.

That is a fair point

that is exactly it
true charity is not about getting credit. it is about giving because it is the right thing to do. charity with bragging rights is self-aggrandizement, not true charity. better than not giving i suppose, but self-serving.
