I hope the Dems don't believe they have blank checks to do everything for everybody ... and pay for it later; it's time to consider raising the Medicare payroll deduction and up the age threshold for social security. I would also empower some "police" with some incentives to get infractions, misuse, abuse, and other corruptions out of the system ... along with streamlining and 21st century technologies to improve delivery/protection systems. There is ample room for Congressional compromises here to satisfy all constituencies.
