... what about those who are serving time for minor possession offenses? Will they get out? What about legal processes for accused of prior offenses in progress? If I live in Portland, can I cross the border of Wash and/or back again without fear?

I know, I know, it's complicated; but, what's the word on the street?

Any prior convictions would stand, I imagine, as when the offenses occured it was illegal. I found it humorous that as of December 6 you can use but you still have to purchase illegally.... Once they start taxing this stuff, it won't be long before the rest of the country follows suit. I just wonder what happens with drug testing in the work place as most jobs only tested for presence of marijuana and not actual amounts, like blood alcohol for instance.

If th feds won't allow the legitimate use of pot in Washington, then they have the rights to secede from the union.

ace ...
... now what does the "right to secede" have to do with marijuana? Non sequitor!

Just to show that, people are serious to indulge in pot.
Not actually to secede but if the feds interfere with the smoking of pot in Washington, people there should threaten with secession:

Seven states qualify for secession response from White House

2 hr ago| By Ian Simpson of Reuters
The petitions for secession from the U.S. filed by Texas, Louisiana, and five other states have collected more than 25,000 signatures each, which the White House website says is enough for review and response.

WASHINGTON - Citizens from more than 40 states have filed petitions with the White House seeking to secede from the union, and by Wednesday, seven states had gathered enough signatures to qualify for a response to the largely symbolic protest.

The petitions, which have been signed by a small percentage of state residents, have virtually no chance of succeeding. The United States' bloodiest conflict, the 1861-1865 Civil War, erupted after 11 states withdrew from the union.

The White House has set up a "We the People" page on its website that allows Americans to file petitions on issues of concern. If a petition collects 25,000 signatures, the website says, the administration will review and respond to it.

The petition filed by Texas residents has racked up about 100,000 signatures. Six others from Louisiana, Florida, North Carolina, Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee have collected 30,000.

Among the seven states, only Florida gave its electoral votes to Democratic President Barack Obama in last week's election.

The Texas petition says the United States is suffering from economic troubles stemming from the federal government's failure to reform spending. It also complains of alleged rights abuses committed by agencies like the Transportation Security Administration.

"Given that the state of Texas maintains a balanced budget and is the 15th largest economy in the world, it is practically feasible for Texas to withdraw from the union," it said.

A counter-petition has been filed calling for the state capital Austin to secede from Texas and remain part of the United States.

... secession, as almost everyone knows, is threatened only for the sake of attention-getting ... no one takes such things very seriously.

I think I'm funny. Do you want a forum of suckups and butt kissers? Should everyone sound the same? Should I communicate like others to be accepted by the majority? Do you have no room in your life for diversity?

Why does anyone waste time here?

I can't be ON all the time, I'm not a professional. But I am kind of accurate on the Chaz thing! He is the king of the one liners "good job, great post, blah blah blah" That has to be just a little funny.

sorry i deleted your posts. they did not really violate our rules. but... they did violate common courtesy, and you caught me at a bad time. they annoyed me because you hijacked 4 threads with tripe. i got pissy and deleted two of them. sorry.

nonetheless, while you are indeed funny a lot, please try not to hijack a bunch of threads with junk if you can help it.

as for your questions in your 14:04 post, let's see:

"Do you want a forum of suckups and butt kissers?" hell no. thumper and softy and stinky (well he left in a huff) were not butt kissers. neither are most here.
"Should everyone sound the same?" no. nor do we.
Should I communicate like others to be accepted by the majority? absolutely NOT!
Do you have no room in your life for diversity? yes. that is why i started this club and only banned the most annoying trolls. and dok. but i regret that and told him he could come back anytime.
Why does anyone waste time here? we like to talk about stuff. i did not mean that disparagingly, by the way. i asked because it does not seem like you really enjoy discussing things. you mostly make jokes and poke fun. which is fine, and beaks lurking, but it makes me wonder what you get out of it.

Applecarts
This is such fertile ground for a person like me to come in and insert my brand of whatever it is you call what I do. Some may call it trolling, some clowning, maybe even kibitzing. It's fun! I get a kick out of it. If you don't like it don't read it, ignore it, or delete it. I don't read 90% of the articles you or others post, its boring. I just don't get all bent out of shape about it!

There are times when I can/have nailed someones weakness, blew it a little out of proportion and hurled a few poop grenades their way! When they get real mad and respond that is a precious moment. I love rattling cages of the pompous liberal.

This would not work on a pure clowning forum or with people who don't take themselves so serious. IT IS PERFECT FOR ME! Look at the cast of "bad guys" I can poke fun at:

-Hippie liberal atheist pothead commie Europe LGBT lover who can't be bothered to use Caps and never misses an opportunity to tell us what a good teacher he is.

-Crazy leftist posting long winded (dare I say pompous) diatribes. Entertaining reading for someone who is wrong about absolutely everything.

-King of the "great post", "LOL", "You got that right" type of agreeathon vomit. Attacks like a vulture or a wolf in a pack.

- Insane female poster with a high chess IQ easily rattled (my favorite) I wish she wasn't run off by the tyrants.

- Supreme pompous cartoon like figure from Farawayastan who speaks in parables or poems or whatever the hell that is. Portrays self as a godlike figure who can't be bothered to speak plain or communicate like mere mortals. "IF YOU CANT UNDERSTAND ME YOU ARE BEGGING PEASANT" All liberals (especially #3) treat his arrival like teenage girls greeted the Beatles when they got off the plane.

- Nutty Australian emigrant who thinks Australia is the center of the universe. Old now but I could see an Austin Powers type shagadelic hippie in the 60's.

- AND now a crazy rabid ranting liberal from Wisconsin that said something about a partner! OMG I have to tread lightly here and not be too direct, but the material offered up here could be priceless.

Just too funny!!!!!!!!!!

hey now
don't forget the aging conservative new yorker who names himself an australian insult and is married to youtube.

by the way, when was the last time i told you what a good teacher i was? i happen to think i am a sucky teacher this year. i am losing patience and energy as this is my last year teaching for a few years. i am tired and not, in my humble opinion, doing such great job this year.

uruguay
Uruguay moved a step closer to becoming the first country to legalize marijuana, with lawmakers introducing a bill that outlines how the drug would be produced, sold and regulated. The bill introduced Thursday in the lower house of Congress would allow citizens to grow up to six marijuana plants and to buy 1.4 ounces of marijuana every month. It would also allow for the licensing of marijuana clubs with up to 15 members, 90 plants and an annual production limit of nearly 16 pounds. Advertising and exports would be banned, and a regulatory institute would be created to control the drug’s production and distribution. President José Mujica has promoted the legalization of marijuana as a way to reduce the addiction and crime associated with harder drugs. Supporters expect the bill to become law by early next year.

... in 2014, I predict an avalanche of state measures to legalize marijuana ... and to put in place aggressive tax measures coupled with restricted retail marketing.

A great place to smoke pot in Washington State is downtown Seattle @ Marion and 2nd ave right in front of the big building, or perhaps Pier 36 for a nice view of Puget Sound.

Further Guidance
Also in Seattle is it considered rude if you only bring enough pot for yourself. You should have plenty on hand for a small crowd, maybe more than 30 to 120 marijuana cigarettes. They also think it's cute if you set up a lemonade type stand to disperse your marijuana to the local hippies. Just make sure you do it in the town square between Marion, Madison, 1st, and 2nd ave.
