Political junkies chess tourney
Looking to start an invitation tourney and I've got like 7 or 8 people from over in the other political forum and want to know if anyone from this forum is also interested. I'd like to fill up a whole 11 person tourney.

Will create with liberal time constraints.

Let me know if any of you are interested.

See?

Conservatives are always making concessions to liberals and what do we get for it?... more demands for more concessions.

I think we need to have a bipartisan commission to study the effects of liberal allowances on chess tournaments and then make a recommendation to the committee.

Ok, ok... in the interest of time I'll acquiesce and accept it! (that's for Chaz)

as a flaming Liberal
i 'may' play in this tourney.Nothing is more satisfying then 'feasting on the souls of those who would subdue us' or in other words ' "sic gorgiamus allos subjectatos nunc''

I hope you get in... I will then have grudge matches with you, Z, DM, and Chaz. I will NOT be taking it easy this time, that's for sure... I'll be serious and even try.

BC
You are welcome to the tourney - though based on ratings alone, you'll not only win the tournament, but most of us will not be much of a challenge . . .

i was just kidding. I will not play.
it would not be fare for me to play, unless there was 3-4 other players with equal or greater ratings. Mind you!! i love crushing conservatives!! But i am coaching DM and he will be my spear. He will exact my political vengeance and his..Though you would think i would be sated after the election debacle. I still want blood though. I probably have to wait till the mid-terms, when blood shall cascade from Valhalla!!!!!

Join. This will have to be an unrated for fun tourney. I'd enjoy sitting across the board from you despite the difference in our ratings.

NO, you won't!

Ask me how I know. She will put a dagger in your heart quickly, if she is merciful. Otherwise, she will drag out the pain and agony longer than you can take!

I play BC regularly. She does not toy with her prey.

no. she dispatches it quickly and feeds hungrily on the bloody remains.

... so ... is such an opponent one to seek? ... or one to avoid?
proginoskes
01-Dec-12, 13:12

when did we decide it was going to be a non-rated tourney?
zorroloco
01-Dec-12, 13:17

josh
it wasn't decided, but that is the norm for a friendly tourney that is not restricted to certain ratings.
proginoskes
01-Dec-12, 13:48

I haven tried to set it up yet. Should it be non-rated? I don't mind putting my rating up against any of you guys. It's not like my son won't eat if I lose a game.
chaz5

... If I lose against a high rating, my own rating doesn't suffer very much. I'm on the fence about whether it needs to non-rated ... I'll agree with the majority sentiment.
itchynscratchy

rated or not, it doesn't bother me.
proginoskes
01-Dec-12, 14:46

Jeff is right though. I probably can't get everyone in if it is rated based on the interface to create a tourney. Let me go look.
proginoskes
01-Dec-12, 14:51

In order to get everyone in, it has to be nonrated. But it still counts for the club competition tables though.

So it's for the bragging rights.
