complaint thread2) although the word in question was not very strong, it does meet gk rules for being vulgar. 3) a mod discussion and vote would have been a better and appropriate course of action for a violation of that nature. still, kem was technically within her rights to delete (see item the second). 4) do not post if you cannot keep from devolving into personal attacks. we are here to put our ideas out there to be attacked, refuted, and debated. if you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen! personal attacks will not be tolerated and will be deleted without further warning. if someone's argument bothers you, smash it with logic, data, and eloquence! 5) respect one another even if you think their arguments and beliefs are worthless. questions? |

To avoid future trouble of this kind I would suggest moderators should not moderate a discussion in which they are actively participating. |

The thread was starting to go off in various directions before the bad feeling emerged. I think, on balance, it was a well constructed debate from all sides. Perhaps, with nearly 200 posts its hardly surprising that things would eventually become a little heated. A new thread when the subject turned to morality/religion, and particulary the thorny issue of faith, might have helped. |
