You too, obviously. I don't know what your mission is, but it seems to me you want to make as much enemies as possible. If you want to have civilized discussion, and especially if you want people to take you seriously, I really think you should clean up your act a little bit. No offense.

Just my opinion.

Equal Attacking
I'm surprised anyone thinks there is a concerted effort to make an attack on particular political viewpoints. I hope you don't think I'm part of the secret liberal society. I only subscribe via email to the clandestine newsletter distributing the list of 1A members who belong to the opposition whom we should attack.

Paranoia, I tell you.

Thanks Thumper, let me clarify.
This is not a liberal nor conservative club.

It may have an inordinate number of liberal-types as members. But also, the conservatives within the membership may feel it unnecessary to vent on any-given-subject; so they are quiet. I don't know.

I do know that President Bush is the greatest president we ave ever had. He has had the most challenging of situations given him than any other President, except possibly Washington. But Washington wasn't even president during his tough times, he was a general of the revolutionaries. Bla, Bla, Bla

Let me finish, Thumper, I won't pretend to know where your politics are. But if you join me in singing the praises of our beloved President Bush, I will be pleased, the club will exorcise, and the balance of opinion will find an equilibrium. Look for my Bush-is-great thread, it is, well... Great!

Am I just a gullible idiot or is there really such list? Who else is in it? Is there a list somewhere where I am listed? If yes, is it labeled "gullible idiots".....?

kop...
I believe you would fit into ....."The Disordered Personality Forum" (TDPF). I don't really think you know where you're comming from, most of the time, lol. It's Left field, way out there. Me, I'm a lunatic-schizoid and proud of it. Who's after me now, hah hah?

Its hardly..
..surprising that tlsf keeps getting mentioned. I realise that some would like to treat it like the lunatic relative locked in the attic that no one mentions but as far as I can see this club is its offspring. TLSF2 if you like but with a twist (thanks for asking, make it lime).

Freedom of speech. What a high ideal although I believe all the other forums on this club would claim to have it. No what we have here is a breakaway that, due to events, suddenly finds itself stood all alone. Now those of us who were left at TLSF who like an argument have drifted in to see what all the fuss was about. And guess what? (bad grammer I know but I think most won't notice) Its the same place!! Except the founder and his mods don't want to boot anyone!! So one or two are already running riot (its obvious who I mean) thinking they are really in the nihilist club.

The usual suspects rejected from "you know where" (make sure that door is locked) are in the meantime behaving themselves, being moderate in fact, which, when pointed out by dok earned him a pistol whipping and a few poorly veiled threats. However once the honeymoon period is over I think there may well be some tough decisions ahead. Are our leaders up to it? I'm looking forward to finding out unless of course I get booted. Oh the sheer, beautiful irony of it!!!

Boot you John ?..over my dead body...well maybe not quite.
Your point about the 2 clubs is a fair one, personally I wouldnt mind a return to to the LSF
" style " of about a year ago, it seemed to change for the worse...whether by accident, events or design I am not sure.

Nihilist Club...that not a bad name, come to think of it.

Good one..
..leo. Well you're a mod (thank god) so maybe you can bring some "style" to this place and ensure that what happened in one place need not happen in the next.

Feel free to use Nihilist Club. Think nothing of it.

Can we please be anymore pessimistic. I just think you guys are too happy with this club. That's not right. You need to really pounce on this idea of free-speech. Afterall, where's the control--certainly, we can not leave it up to the 'self'. Self-control? Ha. People must be told what they can, and can not say. Nevermind the fact that idiots (me included) get ignored after their novelty wears thin. Idiots get bored and either, a) straighten-up, or b) move on.

for myself, I am already bored with discussion of the 'other' forum, the 'new', unnamed forum, the 'old' forums, the critique of any forum, the management of this forum, the critique of the critiques, the bashing, hashing, smashing. Can we please be more pessimistic?

Go to the other threads, disperse, find an enjoyable topic, discuss, learn, earn the respect of the other players, members, be a model member. Cut the put-downs, and cuts. These only serve to undercut, not build.

Let's talk about the reconstruction projects in Lithuania(sp?), for God's sake! Anything but dribbling, dribble. Where is Tugger, when you need him?

Tuuugggger?, oh, Tuuuugggger?

Hmmm.

Hey Jaymar......
.... good to see you somewhere... it's been a while my friend

Re: TLSF leo, I think one year ago might possibly coincide with the inception of id+DOK's illness. Perhaps therein lies the reason.

From what I've seen prior to joining, this is the same club with different wallpaper and slightly funkier work surfaces. Poor table manners are [obviously] tolerated here, so I plan to have my elbows planted firmly on the table at all times whilst sniffing loudly, breaking wind, eating off my knife and complaining loudly about the food.

One thing is for sure; without the one club, there wouldn't have been the other, and if time travel ever becomes possible we may come to know whether the obverse is (was?) true.

Echo...
Was it you that had the bit going about Mr. Advice? I can't remember the name of the thread, now. but it was hilarious. Any plans to bring it here? I am certain there are members who need a little of the advice-column ediquitte(sp?). man I am a rotten speller--what happend to me?

as a general, if obviously says it, you are best off ignoring it. once in awhile he will post a valid topic, but usually he is just tryimg to get someone's goat - he is very competent at that!

no. there is no such list.

Ask carstairs you mean?
Well I liked it.

But to be honest it bombed really. Most people are in denial. They simply are too stubborn to admit they are sad, deluded, inompetent losers... and who can blame them??!!

I'd happily start over again, new name this time I think, but only if there is enough support to keep it going otherwise it becomes a chore. Anyway, as a newboy, I really ought to keep my head down for a wee while

Well, take it from me, the Model MOD...
I liked ol' Carstairs, and would be happy to see her/him return. The old bit about the colonies having tea, sent me reeling! The best.

Good that we can be in the same forum again, Jake.

Thanks Bobby.....
.... I'll have a think. I have been working on a "virtual" comic for adults. I can't start it here though as any one of the characters names would get me banned in a heartbeat.

This thread truely confuses me.

Since we seem have a liberal majority here and a conservative finds himself at much greater odds of defending his position, this club suddenly stops being about freeodm of speech? You're free to say what you want. What I'm hearing some folks say is you want freedom from having your feelings hurt, or bing annoyed with having to defend your position against so many differeing opinions. Man up boys. Post whatever you like, but be prepared to defend yourself - did not liberals have to vigorously defend their position on TLSF? If all you want is applause, then perhaps one of those complaining should start their own new forum. All are welcome to stay here of course. We will not be booting people. It seems that more than a few are confused by this. Yes we let people who are complete buttheads stick around. Ignore them. Some folks also seem hell-bent on trying make us out to be the exact same as the TLSF. That it is just a matter of time before before we start walking down the same road those in TLSF did, booting people who annoy us or bother us. Not going to happen here. I also wonder if there isn't a certain amount of "sour grapes" from those who were prominent in another club, now finding thermselves much more impotent here. I hear a lot of anger in many posts from these folks, and I do not know why. This foum took off, and did much better than TLSF running neck and neck with less members. I wonder why? This is a great place. We like to have new conservative positions. If you're interested in some of the conservative vs. liberal thoughts check out the gay marriage thread. I'll bump it to the top.
