pawntificator 01-Oct-06, 21:52	Chess Cheating Shoot! I have been investigating my opponents history and ratings, and I discovered that I believe I am playing a cheater who began using a computer program! I hate that feeling. No, I'm not giving any names.
qiwi 02-Oct-06, 01:05	Computer programs... It is certainly sensible to check out your opponents record before accepting any challenge.... If I see that someone has hovered around the same rating for a long period and then all of a sudden his/her rating starts heading skywards I give them a wide berth....
pawntificator 02-Oct-06, 01:10	I usually check Because of the issue. I'm not sure why I didn't notice this time. I really can't say for sure if it was cheating. He even put a disclaimer in his profile to explain the reason for his sudden rating increase. Maybe it's true! But after losing the game, I am bitter and suspect foul play.
mozz 02-Oct-06, 03:17	Wow. The past game history does tell an interesting story. 21 game winning streak and only a 3 game losing streak. I wonder what sort of games he plays at lunch? I notice he is military. Maybe it is the result of one of those secret experiments to make super soldiers.
pawntificator 02-Oct-06, 03:23	Uh oh! I have said too much. I must make clear that I am not accusing anyone of cheating, only that I am sore about losing. I didn't play the best, and at the end I wanted out of the game altogether. I'm only saying that I suspect it is possible, heh.

leo_london 02-Oct-06, 11:07	Ah yes, poor tertsie. We did buy him a lovely turquoise tutu but the pink always remained his favourite. It all paid off in the end though... his arabesque was really something to behold.

I don't like playing with fire and this dude sounds like a flaming.... _id=pawntificator yes there will be all manner of cheaters in all endeavors of human kind. As for outing a 'suspected' cheater here, hmm.... I would think twice, heed echo3 advice... have a slice, a toke, a chill and forget about it.

Pawnt', I have to be honest and say I cant see anything in the way he played the opening that suggests he is using a computer.... or if he is, it must be a very early model he has picked up while serving in Kazahkstan.....
pawntificator 02-Oct-06, 18:55	You are right I reconsidered my original estimation. I was just sad because I lost. I'm not always rational. Sometimes I get paranoid. Qiwi, I lose games like that all the time. I must warn everyone out there never to play chess under the influence of mind altering substances. Also, refrain from going in public and keep out of the forums when you are fashnikkerd.
