sirtgl 12-Oct-06, 22:40	Ice Hockey, anyone? Anybody interested in hockey? NHL has recently started and has some special interest for us finns, since we have soooooo good players there this year. In fact, Calgary Flames' goalie Miikka Kiprusoff has been said to be the best player in the entire league. Last year he was only the best goalie. But personally my favourite is Anaheim Mighty Ducks. This may also be interesting to NHL-fans: Recently there was a game in the finnish league between two teams from Helsinki (Jokerit and HIFK), and since there is always some extra tension in those games, two players started fighting. As a result, since fighting is not very widely accepted, the police started to investigate the event as a probable crime. At the moment there are over 20 fights in the finnish league under investigation from the last 10 years! So if you're wondering why the finnish players very rarely fight... well, there you go.

pawntificator 13-Oct-06, 02:59	I think Hockey is the most exciting professional sport to watch. The action is so quick with the skating on the ice, and the puck flies around so quickly that they have to highlight it on the screen sometimes. It's a brilliant dance, and they allow fighting, and the players put on a good show. Baseball is boring. American football is too slow for me. Football (soccer) has too large of a field, so too slow. Basketball is pretty quick sometimes, but still, they are running on their big clumsy feet. Hockey is incredible at times. But I don't really like to watch hockey either. I would prefer to see televized chess. Heh, I put a z in televised.
a_professional_idiot 13-Oct-06, 10:33	The first time there was a fight in the NHL both players were arrested, jailed for one night, and fined. Now Bettman is again trying to get rid of fighting in the game, which is stupid because it makes the game much more dangerous for the stars and gives jobs to no talent hacks like Steve Moore. Kipprusoff is not the best player in the league, and is not even the best goalie in the league. With those 6 defencemen in front of me, and the forwards trapping, I could post a GAA below 2.50. It'll nice to see him lose to the Leafs on Saturday.
