doc...
so it's not just saying the word smoke then...! i have no idea on that one...

you cigarette box thing is flawed, it might be possible to get a drag out of it, but even then i doubt it... the oxygen in the box would burn out in no time at all, leaving the combustion starved of oxygen... the ciggie would go out very quickly... you would need an air vent going above the water level for this to work...

Doc
If you close your mouth and plug your nose and blow really hard to cause a localized increase in pressure in your lungs, what appears to be smoke will come out when you finally exhale.

Yes pawn,
I used to do that in class at times. If you extend your cheeks like Louis Armstrong playing the trumpet, you'll work smoke off the inside of your mouth, and when you exhale smoke will come out. Depending on how much of a smoker you are

the underwater box... + the smoke
it will work if the box is,say 12"cubed,or bigger..Your right tugger...the cigarette will burn out fairly quickly, but not extra extra fast.I would say atleast 1 or 2 minutes, and thats enough to get a few drags...remember,no one said any length of time to smoke the cigarette under water or that the "whole"cigarette had to be smoked!,so even if it lasts 1 minute, that box will still work!No flaw there!

As to the smoke coming out of the mouth... ,yes,in reality i meant compressed water vapor. And no,you don't increase the volume of smoke if you are a smoker or not, since its air just sucked in to the mouth and not originating from deep within the lungs..Just hold one side of your cheek with as much air as you can get in there and push the air against the inside of your cheek as hard as you can for approx.4 to 5 seconds. The release is important and takes some practice to be good at it.You must very slowly and extremely gently push the vapor out using your bottom lip.it works best in lower light conditions(to see it better). Also,I tried filling both cheeks with air,and what I found out is that it dosen't work quite as well as just doing one side of your mouth because you can keep more pressure on one side while your pressurizing the air rather than both sides.(trust me,i'm an expert at this)!I'm glad some of you figured it out.I never smoked but I can send a smoke screen after drinking some coffee 2 feet in the air!!

Oh...and
you can actually breath normal through your nose, while still maintaining tight air pressure inside your cheek before releasing. So,you do not have to hold your breath or plug your nose either!

Here's a good one!
I won more than just a small bet, but much admiration from a large group of friends. While hanging out at a friend's house with a pool, and hot tub, I made a small wager that I could hold my breath longer than anyone else. I got timed in the hot tub, but I would take breaths from the air that was continuously pushed into the water thru bubbles. When I came out finally everyone was cheering and celebrating like I won the olympics! It was a clever idea that had good fortune.
