Michael Jackson -
It appears from various news sources that Michael Jackson has died as a result of a cardiac arrest....
He was a true musical genius and I fully expect a huge outpouring of grief from all around the world....
He really was a giant in the world of music..

Kinda weird
but I feel a little sad about this. He was way too young. Wow big part of my teen years.

Troubling string of deaths we've been seeing lately. Fantastic singer and dancer.

hmm I dunno...sorry to present an alternate view but through my eyes whilst he had a great deal of musical talent
he was clearly someone with more than the usual share of ghosts in his psyche or what a Chinese student I'm
currently working with described as "shadows on the heart". I suspect that had he lived longer his future would
have been less than auspicious. Perhaps it's better if he dies whilst the fond memories of many remain intact and
not overlaid by witnessing further decline.

I don't know... to me "Michael Jackson" was gone a long time ago. On the Wall was fantastic.
Thriller was epic. Bad was really good. Dangerous had some brilliant moments, but by that time,
he had already morphed into something unrecognizable.

I miss his music and performances, sure... but again, I feel they have long since been gone. The
man himself was simply disturbed, and I can only imagine the demons that must've haunted him
while he was alive.

But he sure left us a lot. I'm not a pop-music guy, but he was a true artist and the world of
music is much better off for him having been a part of it. I expect that he has now transitioned
to that realm of "legend"... up there with Monroe and Elvis. Hopefully he will be remembered for
all the right reasons.

Until he died, I never knew how much the music world needed him.

The US House of Representatives observed a moment of silence for him today. I thought that
was pretty significant... you don't normally see that for an entertainer.

I am starting to believe he very well might have been the Elvis of my generation.

I didn't get sad until a day or two afterward. But now, I am remembering how annoying the rest of his family, his father Joe, his sisters and the rest of the Jackson 5 are.

hmmmph!
Who cares?!? What is with our obsession with celebrities? Lots of people live in squalid misery and die everyday around the globe. He should get a brief obituary on the news and then be done with it. oh, yeah, and the little children of the world can now rest easy...heh!
