Election 2009
news.yahoo.com

Even if the democrats pull out victories it looks as though they have lost ground.

Any libs
or democrats puzzled as to why the republicans swept both states? Keep watching msnbc and cnn. Stay in the dark.

New York City makes me laugh. Twice voting against allowing Bloomberg to run for a third term. But after he forces his way into the election anyway, voters are too caught up in the two-party system to dare to vote against him.

Stinky ...
MSNBC is biased left ... CNN is pretty objective. The elections seem to be fairly characterized on CNN. Why do you think it means listeners would be in the dark?

Not just the election but all along with the outcry of people who did not like things happening all around the country. Things like the tea parties were just blown over like it was a couple of pissed off KKK members. People are looking at things like Obama winning the Nobel peace prize and forgetting about issues.

Stinky ...
... I don't see how you can say that things like tea parties or the Nobel was overlooked by CNN ... it seemed ably reported without bias. But ... if that's your perception, OK, but the "outcry" seems to be concentrated among the Reps in a typical partisan fashion.

The real question is: does this slow the spread of big government, out of control spending, and the elitism of our elected officials?

The answer is possibly and hopefully YES. It should be a loud warning to our elected officials that hey better respect the rule of law, listen to the electorate, and get a grip on reality. The people are "mad as hell and aren't gonna take it any more".

Possibly it will stop this type of government behavior:

Obama recently approved a 2% salary increase for all federal employees effective January 1, 2010. Members of the executive, legislative and judicial branch are due for an automatic pay increase in January as well. All this on the backs of seniors who will not incur any COLA increases for several years and "official" unemployment at 10%.

For the first time in history, the Congress will not allow an increase in the social security COLA (cost of living adjustment).

In fact, The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation predicts there may not be any COLA for the next three years.

However, the per person monthly Medicare insurance premium will be increased from the 2009 premium of $96.40 to $104.20 in 2010 and to $ 120.20 for the year 2011.

Softy ...
I can appreciate many of your views, some are more partisan than others ... but ... I just don't understand this 'bandwagon' you always seem to be on ... it's getting repetitious, Softy!

Social Security get "raises" only when the cost of living goes up ... it didn't, so tell me why it needs to when BY LAW it cannot? Are you suggesting Obama insist on breaking a tried and true law? C'mon!

Fed employees are getting 2% and LESS than a year ago. Most businesses are giving their emps more than 2% ... what's your point?

Just because the remedies being implaced were not anyone's particular choices doesn't mean then can't be supported. Sure, you and I may disagree or wish something different, but nonetheless there is a valid explanation ... and hopefully, most folks DO support a slow but sure remedy to the economy ... AND a methodical approach to health care ... which has not yet come into being.

Gov't has continued to expand over the decade ... just as much under one administration as the others ... you know that. Our elected officials have set themselves up as elite generations ago ... people are no more "madder than hell" than they ever have been.

You and I are both old enough to recognize that about half the population more or less has critique of gov't ... or big business ... or something. Can you only see one side of the issues?

Yes, gov't needs to listen to the people ... especially those who are in "the middle" for they do in fact control which way gov't leans ... and this has been true since our country began!
