Chas5, please stop directing comments to Mr Marmalade. Please would neither of you talk to or refer to each other, for the time being, at least? Please consider this request a formal one, from an administrator Thank you Steve |

Please refrain from directing comments to each other. Please also refrain from talking or referring to each other. This is your final friendly warning Thank you |

Banning of ace_kyiHe simply believes that he can post anything in the name of "freedom". He just doesn't conform nor respect the objective of the threads. One particular case to site: In the thread "Improved 3-word story" initiated by me, at the very start, a formal request for all to be conscientious with their postings had been laid down by me. For not so long (still on the 1st page), nonsensical entries of him started. I tried to send a private message to him about his entries, but seemingly he just ignored it. We can never have a productive result of our literary works with spoilers like him around. I sincerely hope the moderators would take action on this to give more meaning to the existence of this wonderful club. Respectfully, kewois |

obsteveI hope this would set a precedence to those who don't respect the threads and don't observe courtesy in posting their entries. I believe we still have so many things to learn and achieve through this club. I myself had learned a lot which actually has triggered to continue my interest in poetry and some other literary appeals. This is a very good educational venue. I truly appreciate its significance in enhancing not only our skills and knowledge but developing our personality as well. Congratulations for the job well done. |

Recent PostsAce_Kyi appears to have returned as ace_of_aces. But he isn't a member of this club. Just a note. |

Actually I propose every limit their political posts to a 20-25% Mac ratio to other posts. |

Now this looks like a job for me...These recent discussions seem to be turning very specifically to American election politics. Much as I am interested in this, a great deal of it is lost on me and, I imagine, others who are also not as familiar with US politics as you guys are. I am interested in the intersection of art and politics, and would agree that all art is essentially political, but I would rather discuss this in an abstract sense, on this forum, and in a way that is accessible to non-US politic savvy participants, and where it doesn't descend into baiting and ad homineminem. How does that sound? |
SteveHow about setting some guidelines and limits? Whatever you decide is fine if course |
<< How does that sound? >>Let me advocate for wider parameters for this reason, if I may? Taking my views to the 1A Club did not work out for me. If you take a look you'll see already Zorroloco dominates the active threads here. His domination in the 1A Club was even more evident. Here I am somewhat shielded I feel. But hack to the main point; Political views and policies are driven primarily by PHILOSOPHICAL VIEWS. Indeed, I have been debating on how to open up a dialogue on just that point because (sorry for using American politics yet again) as an example, but I believe that the problem of limited freedom to express one's own views are severly limited in America due to the Left's monopoly of the "public square" where desenting voices can be heard. Another example is what is currently happening in Hong Kong. Surely there are other examples. And members here would probably like to give their own opinions on this issue? |
Can anyone become 1A forum member, and take part in any political discussion? no-one here would be prevented from joining, if they so wished? |

Cross PostingI was posting stuff in -Think- lifted out of NG, as Thumper insists on censoring my posts in NG. I felt having brilliant LS content brutally quashed by the iron fisted glove of the dirt bike tyrant was just too much to have to contend with, so I took my posts to greener pastures. Cross posting is a lot of work, and the NG boys don't appear to be responding to anything there. I browsed "the First TRUE Freedom of Speech Club" but that is a kind of a vanity affair. This club is for Philosophy, Poetry, and Art--things liberals dearly value. These are liberal values, even some conservatives cherish. But part and parcel of any acceptable liberal education must include art, poetry, music, and philosophy. Things conservatives have chosen to kill in public education the better to siphon money into religious charter schools, or into the subsidies of fossil fuel industry executives where it belongs--MAGA. And our species all the poorer for it. |
