dan1407 03-Nov-08, 06:17	Club's Logo Hi everybody and thanks for having me, I am perplexed though. People wants? as in needs? Desires? Shortcomings? If it was meant as a verb it should read: want (as in: "the people of the club want"). "...individuals who transcend their works into masterpieces." What is meant here? Transmute? To transcend means to outdo, to excel, to rise above, to go beyond etc. I'd be glad for your answer, Rilke. My name is Dan and for the last five years I've been living in Israel. I let music engulf me so that I can become one with the inner rhythm of the world around me. I write and lecture about philosophy, literature and economy.

The insights are on the stove, I beg for a rain check. I'd post one my Rilke's Favorites: Autumn The leaves are falling, dropping from way up high, as if orchards were dying in out yonder nigh. Each leaf falls as if motioning "no." And tonight the heavy earth is falling away from all other stars withering We all are falling. This hand here is waisting. And look at the other one. I've been told I carry conversations in a poetic manner, which I suppose is natural and I've wondered if any other poets do this. Anyway, I started playing chess this past summer and I appreciate the game and see it in an artistic, poetic light. wingfoot 03-Mar-09, 15:13	hi hi there, 38 earth years ago my parents called their small new bundle of cells 'mark' and that bundle eventually grew into the bigger bundle typing away here - now have sired 3 more bundles and we live on the south coast of england. i read philosophy and chess, play guitar, piano & recorder and try to make the kids aware and alive as to what they are and what they're potential is while laughing and enjoying life with them.

Some of my literary interests include all kinds of poetry from every and any culture, classic sci-fi, as well as "classic classics" as I like to call them. Actually, I'll pretty much pick up any book and start reading but if it doesn't go any where or is too predictable i get bored as my name indicates.
