Carlton Fisk #27 and #72
Carlton Pudge" Fisk played the Catcher Position for the Boston Red Sox with #27 on his back. Traded to the White Sox he found #27 unavailable and so inverted his old number and wore #72 for Chicago. Fisk was one of the great catchers in Major League Baseball. Fisk was well known for his ability to slow a game down and many many games he called in Chicago approached 4 hours in length. I believe he may hold the record for stolen bases as a catcher, too. Pudge was slow of foot, but he caught dozens of pitchers daydreaming and would steal second base.
