A Brave New World
A Brave New World is a very good book about a distopia in the future, but everyone living under it thinks that it is good. Everyone in the world used a drug called Soma, in varying intensities, to dull reality and cope with unpleasant events. Human are engineered to be of a certain intelligence, from "semi morons" all the way up to "alpha plus" varieties. Manual labor would be performed by a semi moron where as intellectual work would be performed by an alpha plus. The book raises man questions about society, the future and drugs. Defiantly worth the read.

Brave New World
The distopian genre reached a new height with the publication of that book, not surpassed, in my opinion, until Orwell penned his all-time classic, "1984." When John the Savage threw the 'soma' rations out of the window, it called to mind the story of Jesus and the money changers in the Temple of Jerusalem. (I am aware that Huxley was a soul on a journey into the world of Eastern Mysticism and not a Christian, by the way.) Nothing draws the scrutiny of the authorities faster than inciting a riot. His outrage at the corruption of the 'perfect society' had come to a head and burst in a fit of rage. Loved the book, Praise the Ford.
