chessbeatswork 26-Mar-07, 16:47	2nd PPA Club Tourney As our first club mini-tournament winds to its conclusion, it is time to start gearing up for PPA II: Wrath of Rilke (that's just the working title; it's subject to change). Congratulations to all of the participants in PPA I, most especially to migchess, the reigning champ of the PPA. If you are intersted in joining us for PPA II, please respond here. As with PPA I, any suggestions regarding time are welcome. PPA II....this time it's personal. Well, not really. But that seems to be a favorite line in movie sequels.

As far as timing goes, PPA II will start no sooner than the conclusion of PPA I, so there is still plenty of time to consider and enlist. The roster as it currently stands: 1. migchess (the reigning champ!) 2. rilke (it is his wrath that drives this tourney, after all)   3. spygirl 4. zrinka 5. ribbleton 6. chessbeatswork

The problem, of course, is that a single tourney is limited to eleven participants. But I have some ideas. 1. If no one else wants in, and all of those I have listed as pending definitely want in, I will cede my place. That would bring it to eleven participants and one heck of a full tourney! 2. If we can gain even more interest, we could make it a multi-stage tourney. Let's say we get two more people interested. That would be fourteen total. Rather than turn people away, we could create two seven-player preliminary tourneys. The top performers from those tourneys then move into the final tourney. Might sound complicated, but it's really not. Here's what we need: Confirmation from those expressing interest and thoughts on the alternatives listed above. I prefer the second of the two, but I am willing to skip a turn so to speak if it gets everyone else who wants to be in involved.

It appears that whatever the format, PPA II- Wrath of Rilke is going to be a great tourney! Again, PPA II will start no sooner than the conclusion of PPA I (which still has three games to finish, I beleve), so there is still time for others to confirm/join. Personally, I hope we get enough people involved to have a multi-stage. That would be cool.

Rilke has informed me that unfortunately Paulette will not be able to join us due to game commitments. Again, there is till time before PPA II kicks off, so if anyone else would like in (we are still awaiting cofirmation from cubanissimo) please let Rilke or myself know either via PM or this thread. If you do not currently have an open tournament space, don't worry. Simply send me a PM when you open up a slot and I will send out your invite. If you have any questions, concerns, etc, regarding the tourney before it starts, please send myself or Rilke a PM, or post it here. PS. The winner of the tournament gets a 1978 edition of Tiger Beat magazine with Shaun Cassidy on the cover.
