Most "horror" films get progressively worse.
For example, the original Friday the 13th was pretty good, but after the first several they are not
worth watching.
I loved Halloween, but after the fifth or so they tried to incorporate some very strange magic
stuff that ruined any chances of a comeback.
The first three Child's Plays stuck to a common plot line but after that they really became
comedies.

8 1/2 by Fellini
Its kind of a stream of consciousness thing in black and white. It jumps forward and backward in time, and from dreams to reality back to dreams. And its in Italian with subtitles. You never know if its you being dense, or if its a terrible translation of something that might make sense.
Not only that, but all the "film" critics consider it to be a landmark of cinema.
Oh Gawd, its so boring.
I guess I would have to watch it another dozen times to get it. I would rather gouge my eyes out.
