Final
andru2
vicit

These are the only players remaining, however looking at the progress to the final, it is clear that the final needs to be varied.

Vicit got as far as the semi-final. As his opponent is no longer with the team, he receives a bye into the final. Andru2 got as far as the quarter final, but did not appear to play any of those games. His opponent was subsequently removed from the team, and thus he is given a bye past two rounds to the final.

Therefore, it is my suggestion that b123, mitchle and chessfiend, the three remaining warriors from the quarter final are all reinstated to play off for the medals in a 5-player mini-tournament. However, I will need the agreement of both andru2 and vicit in order to proceed with this plan of action. It is what I think is the fairest recourse, however the ultimate decision lies with both of them. Otherwise, they will play off the final, and no bronze medal will be awarded.

Please let me know fellas?

TFWMT 2006-7 CHAMPION
Vicit defeats Andru2 in fine style to become the first Fighting Warriors Mega Tournament Champion!

Check out this Warrior's route to the final! He came through this tournament completely unbeaten, even in a four-game thrilling FINAL!

F#3 andru2 Vs vicit on board #8182087 ½-½
F#4 vicit Vs andru2 on board #8205144 1-0

The Semi Final stage was skipped in its entirety, due to players no longer being with the team, however, given Vicit performance throughout the Tournament, I have no doubt he would have come through in impeccable style. Please send me your address details in a private message (cc email) and I will arrange delivery of your medal.

Andru2 proved a worthy adversary, topping Group E <gameknot.com" target="_blank">-> gameknot.com; with only one loss. His route to the final was slightly less glamorous however since he needed neither the Quarter Final Stage nor the Semi Final stage due to players departures from the team. However, he conducted himself with every quality expected of a Warrior, and gave our champion a run for his money!
R16#5 andru2 Vs zusamen on board #7049252 1-0
Again, my friend, please send me your address, so I can arrange delivery of your runner-up medal.

The battle for the bronze medal is still in play however, with a three-way playoff to determine third place. This is after agreement with all remaining players following the recent departures of a number of latter stage players from the team. All that remained was to find a fair way to award the bronze medal, and this is what is happening:

TFWMT3rd#1 b123 v mitchle on board #8180368 1-0
TFWMT3rd#2 b123 v chessfiend on board #8180371
TFWMT3rd#3 mitchle v b123
TFWMT3rd#4 chessfiend v b123
TFWMT3rd#5 mitchle v 3. chessfiend
TFWMT3rd#6 chessfiend v mitchle

So far, b123 leads the chase, but it's early days yet. The rest of the games need to begin quickly to prevent it from dragging on too long.

In conclusion, let me extend my congratulations to Vicit for his remarkable performance. Now the 2nd tournament if underway, let's see can he retain his title? Either way, now everyone knows the favourite, that is to say: "the one to beat"!

Take care my friends,
Oisin
