Pussy power against Putin!
www.chessbase.com www.chessbase.com Vladimar Putin of Russia is acting like a dictator. He crushed all opposition without much deocracy and freedom. Former world chess champion Gary Kasparov retired from world class chess copetition and is now in politics. He is fighting Putin's unfair activities. I hope he will succeed. For details please go to the above links.

My wishes are with you as well ace! This was news to me.It just seems a bit more unusual, for a chess champion retired or not to be in such a rare position of a police detaining scenario.Never seen something like this.Although I wish Kasparov great success,it does seem a bit funny to me to see him in that position...quite different than his positions on the board!Ha ha!Think i'll glossy print this one and hang it up in my chess room!

**** Democracy!
I can't really sing a song of praise for democracy when my country's current ruling party secured a minority of the vote and a minority of seats, and is led by a half-wit, but the party made a series of Faustian pacts with so called independents and political extremists in order to grasp power like some golden chalice to be possessed whatever the cost, rather than an honour to be shouldered heavily and wielded with wisdom. Previous to that election, the same ruling party was voted in on the back of a catchy slogan printed on t-shirts! Governments elected by majority rule? The majority of people in this world are idiots. What does this say of their elected representatives? At least Putin isn't hamstringing his country with a ridiculous carbon tax and a series of budgetary blunders that make the Greek economy look like a well-oiled machine. All whilst catering to the whims of parasitic trade unions comprised of high-school drop outs whose sole aim is to gain the greatest pay for the least work. Compared to this, Putin's Russia and Imperial China (sorry, Communist China, though we all know it's just Imperial China in a different wrapping) seem rather peachy. At least one could get a drink without paying an arm and a leg! -Tipsy.
