Blackburne shilling gambit
Hi everybody! I recently run into the blackburne shilling gambit and i found it interesting...what do you think about it? In my opinion it's very nice if white accept it but if is declined it leads to a weak position for black...

Interesting gambit
Declining is definitely correct for white, with either 4.Nxd4 or 4.c3 but NOT 4.Nxe5 (accepting the gambit. If white accepts then black is winning IMO, but if white declines then it leads to an interesting game, with perhaps a slight advantage to white.

1.e4 e5; 2.Nf3 Nc6; 3.Bc4 Nd4!?

Thank you neilskye for your interesting in my post!
So you confirm my opinions about this opening...do you think that it's a valid line for black even if white decline it? I'm worried about the possible line:

1. e4 e5
2. Nf3 Nc6
3. Bc4 Nd4
4. Nxd4 exd4
5. c3

Also I want ask you what does mean the acronym "IMO"...

Thank you very much for your kindness!!

IMO = In my opinion
I think the line you have given is indeed the best for white, no doubt heinzkat or mybookrunsdeep know this opening much better than me. Faced with that situation I would play 5...dxc3; 6.Nxc3 Qg5!?. I don't really think there is anything for black to worry about in this opening; I have not studied it, but it seems to be fairly even with perhaps a slight advantage to white. It seems to me that ...Qg5 is thematic for black, and is presumeably the main point of drawing the white knight away from f3.

Black's third move is, objectively speaking, a weak, time-wasting move. White has an advantage after 4.0-0, 4.c3, or 4.Nc3. The only virtue of 3...Nd4 is that it sets a trap that has ensnared many players. After the natural 4.Nxe5!?, Black wins material with 4...Qg5! Now the obvious 5.Nxf7?? loses to 5...Qxg2 6.Rf1 Qxe4+ 7.Be2 Nf3# (a smothered mate). This trap is what gives the line its name.

The opening is not a true gambit, since White cannot take the pawn on e5 without losing material. However, after 4.Nxe5 Qg5 White can maintain a playable game with 5.Bxf7+! Ke7 (5...Kd8? 6.Ng4! d5 7.Ne3 dxe4 8.d3 wins) 6.0-0! Qxe5 7.Bxg8 Rxg8 8.c3 Nc6 9. d4 Qf6 10.f4 White's two pawns, rolling pawn center, and lead in development, combined with Black's awkwardly placed king, give White strong compensation for the sacrificed knight.

Blackburne Shilling Gambit
I found out about this variation only in the last 6 months. It was being called the "Two Shillings Gambit". Black can win if White accepts the e5 pawn. I had it played against me in a tournament, took the e5 pawn, and lost to a much lower rated opponent! This should be a good weapon in blitz games.
