31. ... Qd6
I was thinking 31. ... Qd6, getting the queen more into play, and maybe then capturing the a-
pawn.

31. ... Qd6
I agree with oldgus, Qd6 is best here.

maybe...
maybe Qd7 is better because you attack the pawn at g4 and you can safely take the a4 pawn with the bishop, because if you do it now, Bd5+ comes, and you can say bye bye to your queen.

31...Qd6
Looks fine to me. In addition to the comments made above, there is also the possibility of back-rank tactics if White is careless.

31...Qd6
I'm voting for Qd6 although I can't see it being much better than Qd7.

I am also voting for Qd6,

Move 31
Qd7 is the play here guys..it attacks white's p and later on his B. This is much better than Qd6..think it through! We also stand to win another p easily.

31. Bxa4
My vote is Bxa4.

Move 31...
First off I think one ? to Bxa4 was enough, we should remember this is about sharing ideas not about putting someone down. While tennesseehiker's rating is much lower than brigadecommanders at least he is making a contribution.
I like 31...Qd7 a slight bit beter than Qd6.

Oh my goodness
There are so many candidate moves to look at that it gave me a headache.

I looked at only one line and I have no idea how it compares to the others:

33. ... Qd1 34. Kg1 Bc4 (not Qxg4 because of the pin - I thought Kg1 was a cute little move
for white) 35. Be5 Bxf1 36. Rxf1 Qxd4+ 37. Bg3 b3

oops.... typo
I meant 36. ... Qxg4+

Qc6+...?
how about Qc6+
Qc6+ Kg1 Qxa4
Idea?

sonata's idea
It looks like lines beginning with Qc6+ are as good or better than the one I looked at.

i rather like...
... oldgus's idea. After 33...Qd1, Black is threatening 34...Bd5+, which just about forces the reply 34.Kg1 or 34.h3 (h4 might be possible...).

So: [a] 33...Qd1 34.h3 Bc4 35.Kg2 Bxf1+ 36.Rxf1 Qxa4
37.Bc1 (hoping to get in Bh6 at some point) 37...Qc6 and then start shoving pawns.

[b] 33...Qd1 34.kg1 Bc4 35.Be5 (what else?) 35...Bxf1
36.Rxf1 and Black has the pleasant choice of pawns to win.

I agree with Sonata here
Qc6+ seems to be in order here.

Hmmmm
What about Q d1. This forks his B and may win us a p. We need to to start taking some of his pieces off the board and a few pawns here and maybe a B later w/ an exchange will help.

32...Qd1
Black must be aware of Bc4+ if he plays Bxa4
After 32...Qc6+ 33.Kg1 Bxa4 is ok

With 32...Qd1 33.h3 Bxa4 34.Kh2 Bb3 & the connected passed pawns will become deadly.

The idea behind 32...Qd1 ...
(Sorry - I copied from oldgus's line, instead of checking back to see what move we are on. )

The idea behind 32...Qd1 is not (NOT) to play ...Bxa4. The bishop has for the time being to stay on the a2-g8 diagonal. Rather, the purpose is to force an exchange of light squared bishops, then to take the a4 pawn (or the g4-pawn if it is available and we deem it preferable - though given the choice I'd still take the a4 myself).

After that line, White's counterplay has been sharply reduced.

32...Qg6
I vote for Qg6 then at some point the queen can move to b1 attacking both bishops while pinning the light square bishop to the king.

Seems that
32... Qd1 has the most votes:

32... Qd1: oldgus, ionadowman, andywm, caknight
32... Qc6+: sonata, oldgus, dungeonking
32... Qg6: kendo-ka
So, I will post 32... Qd1.

33...Bc4
I like the idea of trading off the light square bishops with 33...Bc4 35.Kg2 Bxf1+ 36.Rxf1 Qxa4
