Number of Yearly Club Tournaments Poll
At one time the club sponsored 3 tournaments a year. Then the process became overtaxing on me, so I reduced the number back to twice a year. However, I believe the club tournaments are a major asset, and the process went rather smoothly this last time. Can I get some feedback as to how often you would like for a tournament to be offered.

How about this?
How about having tournaments starting in January, where the groupings are not by ability, but by how fast people want to play? Then have tournaments in July which are grouped according to ability, as shown by ratings?

I like your suggestion.
However, since the tournaments are in such heavy demand, I believe I will once again offer 3 per year -- one in October, February, and June. The one in October will be open to everyone and the two in February and June will be restricted by ratubgs. How does this sound to everybody. Feedback is requested.

I appreciate your efforts too
I appreciate your efforts too tennesseehiker, but I would prefer to see these tournaments twice a year rather than 3 times a year for a variety of reasons.
1. Many of the tournaments started in January are not finished now, so having tournaments closer makes it more likely that tournaments will be on simultaneously, you may be playing the same player more than once simultaneously.
For instance I played in this tournament, which started in January.

Now although I have finished all my games in it, Easy19, docjan and jontherealdeal have not. Of those Docjan and Jontherealdeal are playing again with me in the latest top group tournament,-

2. By having Club tournaments on twice a year, makes it easier to fit in other tournaments around it, for instance I normally organise a team tournament once a year, this year it started in May, and last year I organised a tournament for UK players in the Autumn, which I was thinking of making an annual event, so to have club tournaments starting in Jan and July would fit in well with that.

Reply to charleshiggie's suggestion
Your points are well taken, Charles. I now believe having tournaments just twice a year makes more sense. I don't mean to be so indecisive, but after reading your comments, I'm going to reverse my decision to go back to 3 times a year in favor of offering club tournaments 2 times a year -- one in June and the other in December.
