AMATEURS BEAT MASTERS!
Hi everyone!

After dropping a total of 20 points (including Glenda) to my buddy Steve (pawnstar) I am badly in need of some inspiration. I found it by looking at this game in a MT commemorating the Japanese after their country was struck by a massive earthquake and tsunami.

Funnily enough in my games against both opponents I am faced with material imbalances. In my game against Jim Friar I have two rooks against his queen. In my game against Delta I have two pieces and a pawn for a rook. I must concentrate hard in both games to ensure I do not slip on another banana skin.

Anyhow, I hope you have a good read of the above game and note that it is possible for players below Expert and even Class A level to BEAT, yes BEAT a MASTER!

Anyhow, have a nice evening.

Bye for now.

an amateur defeats the world champion
There is always this triumph, over a World Champion, inaugurating a new line that has endured (the French McCutcheon), in a game that would encourage any amateur:

GameKnot 2488-rated veteran succumbs to a 1200-rated, new player
& then there is this upset, culminating in a 25-move endgame struggle of Queen and pawns versus Queen and pawns. . .

Aha Shamash, but he has only played 4 games!
I think that the 1200 new player is of at least Expert strength. If he has only a 1200 rating, how come is he playing Experts and Masters in his active games list? When I started, I found myself playing Class D opposition. Maybe he knows these players in real life. It will certainly be interesting to see what his provisional rating looks like once he has completed his fifth game.
